I have only 188,000 on my 2008 Tacoma and I just have to replace a front wheel bearing and a rear wheel bearing ?
Toyota replace the two front bearing three years ago, is this a problem for others?
Is there some thing I'm doing wrong?
These are all highway miles!

Holy shit you've got 188K on an '08???

 

I replaced 4 just last year lol . I'd say your doing pretty good at 188k miles . Some people have tons of issues with wheel bearings and some lucky people don't . Consider yourself a lucky one .

188k out of a wheel bearing is pretty good if you ask me. How many miles since the dealer replaced the front? Driving through water or mud?

 

188k is really good. My rears are howling. May do them Friday

 

Not sure if mine are bad, but I will probably buy a spare front wheel bearing just in case

 

Question for you all. At highway speeds only, if I make a minor adjustment of the steering wheel to the right to compensate for my lack of enough caster I feel a slight vib. Is that the beginning of a worn passenger side wheel bearing? Nothing to the left. Oh and this is holding from the top of the steering wheel. Holding from either side of the wheel I can't feel it also no noises or groaning or the such... Yes I might be paranoid and over sensitive...

 

Drive in a circle both clockwise and counter clockwise and see if you feel anything

Jack it up . Hands on the tire at 12 and 6 and try to wiggle it . You will feel it and or hear it .
If your turning to the right it would be the drivers wheel bearing . Turning left would be passengers wheel bearing .
Sounds like your alignment to me though .

 

Re-do this during the day, its hard to pick up in the dark...
