Only time I've had an issue buying anything was in late 2008/2009. And I live in California, which is supposedly some kind of gun-banning hellhole. Plenty of ammo out here, unless you've got some kind of uncommon/obsolete caliber.

    Are you high?

A few months ago ammo shelves were nearly bare.

.22 is still non-existent in CA unless you pay $60+ for a brick.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
WTF is up with .22?! I thought last winter that it would be available by this time. Still non-existant. I can prettymuch secure any other caliber I want for a somewhat reasonable price, but .22lr is still going for well over .10/rd if you can even locate some.

Armslist is your best bet for 22. Just picked up 10 bricks of Choot Em CCI (3750 total) for $275. Cheaper than walmart. (I'm a buyer, not a seller)

I have some 'extra' .22LR. I bought a bunch when I found it, wasn't cheap, but not super ridiculous for what's going on now. I filled my and my friends' needs and we won't be burning much 'till the desert cools down so I have a few I'd sell to someone wanting/needing. 225 rnd. boxes for $23 and 500 rnd boxes for $50. It sucks that .22 went from a 2 cent solution to a 10+ cent burden. I was able to fill all my other calibers pretty well, but if someone wants the .22 and has a surplus of something I use I'll trade to make it easy. I shoot .38, 9mm, 7.62x54, 30 carbine, and 12ga. In black powder I shoot .44, .45, and .50. I use #10 and #11 caps, true black and substitutes. On that note, if you need any of those calibers to cover some immediate needs I could sell a few as well, I got a little more than I needed just because it was available. An empty gun is about as useful as a nerf bat in a crisis. With constant hunting and a little luck you can find good deals still. I recently saw .40 and .45 value packs at walmart, but don't shoot them. I was tempted to do the buy and resell thing (coulda doubled my $) but I detest that so many people have done this and I think it's lead to a lot of the ammo problem so I passed. PM me if you want any.

Just ordered 250 rounds of PMC's 165 grain FMJs in .40 from Cabelas. They consistently beat all the internet sites on target rounds.

I am realizing I lucked out on the Hornady. I got 2 boxes (9mm) back in Dec 2012. and have not seen it since locally. OR any normal 9mm HP or FMJ for that matter. Only odd companies...No federal UMC anywhere.. I think .40 was the only caliber I saw that did not completely disappear back in Feb 2013. I guess it use to be a Police Cal. only so not a lot of ppl had guns chambered in it.
