the judge originally gave him 38 years. He was 50 years old then. He would have to serve 85% of that, which was around 33 years with time served. Today we were in court for about 3 hours during the trial. i felt like it was something you would see on TV. The judge gave a reconsideration sentence of 25 years. he has to serve 85% of thaT MINUS 3 YEARS TIME SERVED=18.25. He would have died in Prison before more than likely but now the sentence has been cut in half and he wiull get out with a good bit of life yet.
The criminals family was still ver y angry about his sentence being cut in half They are wanting more and are going to appeal for a lesser sentence. Here we go again.

And hopefully a lesson learned. Still a crazy story but it sounds like it's working out as decently as possible for everyone involved.

How are you and your family with the ruling?

Count your blessings that he got that much. As a former LEO, I can tell you that criminals RARELY get the time they are legally bound to recieve. Judges have too much leeway to give their own sentences. And since the JAIL systems are so over crowded they almost always give less time. I had a fleeing felon run me over during a pursuit (broke both legs and collapsed a lung), he got 15 fu#&$%^ days!!!!! I personally think we should go back to public executions.

We are not happy about it at all. This guy wanted to kill my pregnant wife and 2 year old girl. He even wrote it down on paper, which was evidence.

Unreal, and it's warped that you and your family are repeatedly dragged back into the situation and aren't allowed to move on.

I couldn't begin to fully understand what you're going through.

That is pretty F&$#&$^ up. Perhaps a few of us should get together and tie him to our Taco's, then everyone drive off in different directions. Or even better, find someone who knows someone in the prison he gets sent too, then have them leak that he is a pedophile (worse than a cop in jail). He won't last too long.

Yeah, it's pretty messed up when the CRIMINAL has more rights than the victim does.

He's convicted, just lock his sorry behind up and throw away the key. Or better yet, clear off an island and drop all the crooks by parachute and let them fend for themselves - only the strong will survive. Make sure there are plenty of sharks around the island :D

Hope your family can get past this and get on with your lives.

You will be held accountable on judgement day, we can not offer a sentence to equal that.

This is crazy. Lock that sucker up forever. He doesn't deserve any leniency at all.

Hey when they let him out just to show him you harbour no hard feelings we can take him out shark fishing off the coast of NC.
