    Id definitely spend my money on something else for sure. I'd understand the justification to get a carbon fiber hood for my taco if the current hood weighs 100lbs. But hey, you've got to make it your own :) .

    Being lowered extra weight sometimes can be an issue. When I drive alone its cool when my 92lb girlfriend rides with me I rub the ebrake lines when I take off! Catch my drift he he.

    You could try the Photoshop thread. Should be pretty easy to crop, especially if you tell them you plan on painting your carbon hood. :rolleyes:

    Seriously though PSthread guys can whip something up for you.

    Lol yah I would never paint over carbon fiber tho, its a beautiful thing he he. I havnt seen it on the bsp tacos yet. I know there's one out there!

    Carbon fiber parts were originally intended to be painted. The look of unpainted carbon parts came from real race cars that would get damaged and paint wasn't a priority as much as getting the car back on the track for the next race. As for the average joe, well you know. :p

    Mine is going in this week to get painted to match the truck. Years of sun have best down on the clear coat and it has flaked off pretty badly.

    x2. i’d much rather have CF hood than a none functional hood scoop. would could also do a vinyl wrap on it, to change the color or hid the fibers if you wanted, and it would still weigh less then the stock hood.

    i dont think those racers had a protective coating over either, probably just dry carbon. As for me and my super fast expensive race tacoma ill need it ha ha ha. ;P

    did you try those protectants they say you should clean them with all the time? wonder of those really make a difference protecting from the sun. I do hate when carbon fiber yellows. that sucks!

    I waxed and whatnot. But then I let my truck sit for about a year outside. Didn't do to much of anything to it. The clear was already flaking before that, so I already had it in my mind that it would be painted.
