    Merely having dents and brush scratches on your truck would probably raise police eyebrows there :(

    So i actually spent some time having fun on grimmjeeper.com/gears and performed a couple tests.

    I inputted my stock information on one side:

    A340F tranny,
    Tacoma Transfer Case,
    4.10 gears
    265/70r16 tires.

    TEST 1.: Tested RPM levels at 60 MPH. Used 4.10 gears for stock tire size as well as my current tire size with 33s to compare how my truck currently drives. Then i tested current possibilities with 35" & 37" tires at a 4.88 gear ratio.

    4:10
    STOCK = 1917 rpm
    33" tires (current) = 1794, 177 rpm decrease
    4:88
    With 35" tires at 60 mph = 1996, 79 rpm increase.
    With 37" tires at 60 mph = 1881, 29 rpm decrease

    TEST 2: Tested MPH levels at 2000 RPM. Used 4.10 gears for stock tire size as well as my current tire size with 33s to compare how my truck currently drives. Then i tested current possibilities with 35" & 37" tires at a 4.88 gear ratio.

    4:10
    STOCK = 63 mph
    33" tires (current) = 67
    4:88
    35" tires = 60 mph
    37" tires = 64 mph

    Now from the data - it seems as tho 4:88 gears with a 37" diameter tire would put my truck back closest to stock over my current conditions. Considering im currently running with a 177 rpm decrease over stock, with 37s and 4:88 i would only have a 29 rmp decrease which would have more power than i currently have. I performed these tests due to the controversy over gear choice with 4:88s and 37s.

    Any thoughts ??

    My speedometer is off by about 5% (it reads a little faster than I'm really going) with 37's and 4.88's. It feels like stock. Do it!

    well quick update. i did need to have the key in the on position. i could hear the pump going when i was pumping the brakes to bleed them, so that was for sure my problem the first time around.

    did have kinda a hard time compressing the pistons for the front(should have looked closer at a write up i found on t4r.org) because i took the pads out before fully compressing the pistons.

    only major problem is that on my front driverside brakes, the lower inside piston just wouldnt budge. i only need about 1/16th inch more for the new pads to slide in. spent over 1 hour just trying to compress that 1 piston. all the other pistons on that brake compressed all the way in no problem. so im guessing that, that particular piston just has a bunch of shit/rust? and cant go all the way in.

    gonna take it to tire factory on saturday and just have them finish it. kinda sucks cus im all done minus that 1 pad.

    also, i left both of the old pads in on that brake. im thinking its bad to have 1 new/1old pad on a brake?

    Forest Grove now has a bikini barista stand. Oddly enough, I've developed a taste for coffee in the last week. Perfect pit stop on the way home from TSF! :D
