anyone with CS4 know how to make newly opened items "float in windows" like separate items do in cs2?? This is pissing me off, you cant drag and drop from one work sheet not another....

    Dood....can I pick your brain?

I've been researching where to buy Creative Suite 4.... and want it BAD (especially Dreamweaver).

Any suggestions where to buy? I've seen it on ebay for $740 (commercial version). I've seen it on other sites for as low as $545. I'm afraid of buying it dirt cheap at some of those places in fear I'll get jipped outta something or not getting the proper one.

I'm looking at the Design Premium version and this is strictly for home & hobbyist usage. I've heard you can install it on 2 computers but only allowed to 'use' it at one computer at a time?

What's the difference between Commercial and some other varieties? What should I be looking for?

(sorry....off topic - thanks for the suggestions)

Wow Janster that picked a hole in my brain....I'm not sure of any of the later in that question but the best place to buy it is through a student discount purchase at accidemicsuperstore.com. Dream weaver is awesome!!

We had an oppurtunity to buy an accedemic version/discount a few months ago through our nephew. I'm glad we didn't. Apparently...my nephew had to submit some sort of proof directly to Adobe that he was a student before they'd give him the activation code. He graduated over a year ago. He still had his school I.D. and told them he graduated this year.

So, unless that place has some way of getting around that....it won't work for me.

Dark knight, are you running a mac or pc? if you are a PC two ways you can do it. click and drag the each worksheet tab down and it will make it a "Floating" worksheet. Another way to move layers around is by right clicking on the layer and selecting duplicate. When the window pops up, scroll down in"destination" to the worksheet you want. Hopes this helps....

thanks philly, I know about the drag the tab down way, I'll have to try the destinations way. I would love to get it so when I drag a gif, jpg, tiff etc. into PS it will automatically float every file in a window.....oh and it's on a pc:(

    Thanks!

My husband just bought an older version - CS3. Not sure where he got it, but it was a more reputable site than some of the others offering CS4. Saved a few bucks also. :D It's actually the student edition CS3 and the website said it didn't need proof like you do with CS4. It also has a 2 month no hassle return policy also.

This outta be fun playing around with it. I'm excited. Our homepage needs some major re-designing!

If you still need it I can buy it through my academic connection. I work for a University and jumped through the hoops to get the discount. Much cheaper than retail. Just PM me if interested.
