    I talked with the tech about this. He didn't think the engine bay is the issue. Unless the tacoma engine bay is a lot hotter that others, the trouble lies elsewhere.

    It is a known issue because they've had to have that component redesigned by their supplier. And it is not a simple trail fix unless you have a spare set of components, those end pieces.

    You can't actually see the failed part, it is under the PCB, under that rounded edge.

    Some times even I wonder if I am...haha

    I have some rewiring to do that's for sure. CB mainly and some tucking.

    Need a better way to monitor the batteries too. The manual switch for the isolator works great. But if I don't regulate it enough the starter battery isn't charged enough by the time I'm done wheeling. Then I have to rely on the secondary which my cooler and lights are hooked up too. Had to jump myself twice this last trip ha but I got better about switching it over and wasn't a proble after that. Thank god for 140amp alternator

    So it would seem. Time will tell. You can bet, now that I have established a relationship with those guys, I will not hesitate to pester them if I have more trouble. :cool:

    Hopefully, I will know by then if the issue has been corrected. If it continues :notsure: maybe they will have to replace the unit. :D

    I'm sure it's impressive, but once you're out of CO2 you're out, then you have to get the tank refilled,a air compressor doesn't have that issue.

    I full 20 lb tank will last you plenty long enough. Plus you can tell when you are low.

    When I referred to replacement, I was speaking of an 'under warranty' replacement. I don't think ARB is going to give me a powertank in exchange for my faulty compressor. :rolleyes:

    Besides, I'm not convinced a big tank and regulator is a convenient solution for the locker too. It may be fine for airing up tires but as soon as you add a locker into the mix, it becomes a permanent mount situation. which means a convenient location for that tank. Which means using bed space and it would be exposed all the time.

    Maybe that is OK with you but my truck sometimes has to spend time in public places, unattended. that is already a bit of a worry for items like the hi-lift and the toolbox.

    You seriously under estimate the capacity of a 20lb tank. Last you well over a year of heavy use.

    And it's quite cheap to refill. From empty to full was only 18 bucks.

    Plus, it's just something you should fill before a large trip. I think I filled 8 trucks this last trip..plus the 3 times before that. I'd bet money I'm not even half way used.

    size, it isn't a potential bomb
    yep, they can (and will) fail just like everything else mechanical.
    IMO, the CO2 isn't worth it.
    that's great that you can tell when it's getting low, but if you don't have access to a filler you're screwed.
