A guy I work with had that happen in his new 4Runner. They didn't explain how it happened; just said he was lucky it was under warranty.

From what I can tell the drive by wire throttle in that car has an electronic motor that controls the valve in the throttle body and it is a really finicky part.

The worst part is that her $2000 extended warranty isn't wanting to cover it and the dealer wants her to pay for it. She hasn't even had it a month yet...

I love my 45 quart. I got to really check out the Igloo roto molded coolers at the hunters show. They had some great show prices and some nice features. I almost bought one but held off.

That is messed up. Tell the dealer to cancel the warranty and have them give her a check for the unused portion. It should be most of the $2000 since she has not had it very long.

Yeah you did... unless you use and abuse the crap out of it, and not just for keeping beer cold.

Probably the best route at this time. The vehicle was used but should have had some sort of warranty with it since it is still less than 30 days.

I wanted a Yeti for a long time, then i found the Brute box from Brute outdoors. A local Texas company. Quite a bit cheaper and just as good. The trick for any of these coolers is pre cooling what your putting in. If the drinks and such are warm the ice goes fast. If everything is cold already you will have a frozen block of ice. If you keep it in your truck lock it down with a cable that is available at academy.

You can't just return the vehicle to the dealer since it is already sold. I assume it is financed so the bank owns it. If you leave it at the dealer and stop paying for it the finance company will just repo it from the dealer and then your GF's credit is screwed. Contact Ford directly and see if they can help fix the situation. I would think the throttle body is part of the drive train and should be included with the drive train warranty.

Not bad, I took a look at the Brutes, looks like a good durable cooler. I agree, cold beer with ice in any cooler, will have better results than warm beer. However, these are way too much for beer anyways, a good Igloo or Coleman will meet your needs there.

Well i got the brute 25qt for water and stuff at work, with pre cooled drinks and a 10lb bag of ice it will hold ice for two days sitting in the black bed of my truck in 100 degree heat. Im completey happy with that. I have also found that a layer of frozen water bottles on the bottom and ice will make any cooler last a couple days. Thats what we do when we go camping with the food cooler.

My beer never lasts that long ;) Actually I wouldn't object to either cooler, I do like the Yetis.

    Beer-slushies huh, interesting.

Rock salt, it decreases the temp and yes stuff will start to freeze, but it also aids in the ice to melt quicker. I dont drink beer anymore but i used to use it and boy, you talk about cold beer!
