Just got a call from my Toyota dealer this morning. The 2014 I special ordered is due to come into the dealership September 28th-30th. He also said that they just got some Tacomas in at the port of Jacksonville, FL. He said they are regular cabs and stripped down. I'm guessing those are some fleet models or something. Only thing he had heard that is different for 2014 is an improved Entune unit that allows for more/better apps.

*If* all this is true then I guess they are just now getting 2014 deliveries out from the factory. Of course we all know how dealers can be when it comes to info. Maybe our resident factory guy can confirm or deny any 2014s going out.

Keep dreaming. It is not in anybody's interest to give us, the customers, efficient and small diesel engine. Not in North American market, geared for big and thirsty engines.

I was in St Marteen a few weeks ago. That place is loaded with the Hi-Lux truck with diesels. You can barely hear them at idle from the outside. I think they are sharp looking trucks!

Our medium size store has 9 2014's on the way including my demo a 2wd TRD DC short bed in Barcelona Red. Due from Sept 20th on. I drive this model as that is the same as what I will buy when I retire. Side note the Tundra's are here in stock now.

Wow. I think the Tacoma is the only truck that doesn't offer a non metallic red color. I always wanted a red 4x4 pick up. This sucks. Barcelona red isn't a bad color. I just never have been into metallic reds.

Wow. Way to go Toyota. Nice way to offer some different color options. Sorry. Venting. Below is the difference between nautical blue and blue ribbon.

I saw some test vehicle on I-70W today climbing up the hill from C470, you know one of those with all the vinyl masking all over it to hide the contours. It had Michigan manufacturer plates on it. I'm guessing it was a Dodge Dakota, because it was mid-size and a diesel. Thing was puffing out white smoke from the tailpipe periodically. It had three round vertical taillights poking through the masking, a red one up top, white in the middle, then another red one at the bottom.

It was moving pretty slow, I had to slow down to 55 (speed limit 65) to take a second look at it. It had white rear shocks mounted center of the rear axles. Sorry, no pics. It had some crazy psychedelic black&white paint scheme on it I guess to further mask what brand it was.

I'm no diesel expert, but periodic bursts of white smoke climbing a grade isn't a good thing, is it?

White smoke usually means water in fuel (at least on the diesels i've worked on)
