Chris, it's a good thing we did not grow up together. We may not be driving anything badder than a bicycle today, lol.

This is a good example of a post that I think sounds pretty cool, but I don't know what the hell you are talking about, no offense. I'm assuming the "Cobra cb" is a CB radio; I used to have one a million years ago; they were fun if you had some good buddies to talk to ("Ugh! Yow, RED RYDER This is the COTTON MOUTH In the PSYCHO-PHILLY CADILLAC Come on").

The rest is lost on me, but sounds like a lotta fun. Just like Billy's "AFE pro dry" - he seems excited by it arriving, so it must be really cool. I guess I have a lot to learn.

Goddamn, thanks for elucidating, Mike. Is AFE better than K&N? I was thinking of getting me a K&N air filter to boost HP a little.

Mike has nailed the elucidation. Radios are used extensively on trail rides, I'm just trying to catch up with the rest of the peeps so I can play along :D

But what does the "20' of grade 80 chain for use with hilift" do?

I ask a lot of questions, I know.

The chain can be used with the HiLift as a winch (until such time as one can shell out the heavy cake for a plate bumper and winch):headbang: Soooon, soooon...(I hope)

eh... save your money. neither offer really any results other than not having to change them out every 30k. the K&N has proved to let shit through it and into the engine.

not worth the money since it doesnt take in any colder air, and just makes noise.

 make sure you get it hooked up corectly, they are a bitch to get working right, but once they do they're fun!

Cold Air Intake is on my list - it was on my list with my '08 Sport, but I couldn't decide between that and the TRD Cat-back exhaust. Since my Baja has that, I'm looking at a racing air filter (K&N was recommended), or the CAI. Will an aftermarket conversion void my warranty? I've read that the TRD CAI does not provide the best performance boost.

I got the AFE cause it is a dry filter. When you oil the filter element you take the chance of some of that oil ending up on the map sensor. The map sensor is a device inline with the throttle body and air filter. You want the little wire or wires to be as clean as possible

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
What these cavemen failed to mention is how absolutely pointless aftermarket filters are in developing power or better MPGs.
