Thats awesome dude. Glad you got the hang of it and love it. I am gonna have dave help me and yes Ive been on YouTube watching videos on how to use the clutch. I know what to do its just doing it once im on the bike lol. But I think think It will be too hard. Im not getting a very powerful bike so I should be ok. what I'm gonna love the most is not lugging this huge heavy piece of atv around. Its hard to move but with a dirt bike, It should be much easier. I cant wait. I'm looking for one.

This works wonders. I never get sick on boats but last Year I really got hit hard. Throwing up 24/7 and it sucked. I put this on next trip and never had a problem. And its cheap too:)

I can see that, lol. You guys are funny, in a good way.

I am actually thinking about it. Whereas it's black it might look kinda cool. :)

Your butt needs to be re-calibrated...

Lisa, I'd suggest researching the snorkel, they can be a PITA when it snows and the head ices over. Some of the New Englanders that have them either turn the head around when driving in snow, cover them when parked with a plastic bag or purchased a Donaldson head for it. They have their uses but can be pain for a daily driver.

Sounds temping though. I can take the truck swimming, and it should get cool air like a CAI right?

Keep in mind, those snorkels were designed for dust, not water crossings. There are many other parts on your truck that are a lot lower that will start giving you problems if you take your truck swimming.

It will perform better than most 'cold air intakes'. I put that in quotes because your truck already pulls cold air from the fender so the most you gain is noise with most setups. A snorkel and URD's CAI would likely be the best for gains, followed by Volant with the scoop, then AFE Stage 2Si, regular Volant and older generation TRD CAI.

Thanks, Mike. It's good to be aware of the cons...you're right that winter in NE might make the snorkel a PITA.

From what I've read here, someone would get either a CAI or a snorkel...why would someone get both?

I've heard of people running a snorkel into a CAI air box because the CAI was previously installed. I suppose you could run both because you eliminate the flex line from the stock intake and the CAI allow you to run a cone filter. I guess the thinking is if you can force more air into by using the snorkel, then the more air the filter will let pass, the better the engine breathes. That's a question better asked of the engine nuts, most people that I know of don't put a snorkel on solely for performance gains. You're in unchartered territory! :)

Also, remember the snorkel installation process. You have to drill a huge hole in your fender and a few holes up the pillar. If the snorkel idea is something you like, check out some of the ones people have run into the cab or the windshield cowl. No drilling of body panels, still allow for the deep water crossings and performance gains are still being looked into.

To be honest, I wouldnt get a cai or a snorkel. Unless your gonna go hardcore wheeling and water crossing then Its a waste of money. I have always had cai in my jeeps and trucks and all it ever does it make noise and I think it even decreases mpg. So whatever k and n says about making 8hp, there nuts lol. I just brought a Prodry afe filter and put it in where the stock ones goes. You never have to replace it and you don't have to spend 300 bucks. Its a win for me. Save your money on a lift kit or tires.

I've had my new and old Tacoma though water over the headlights with stock intake and never had a problem :D. David with his ranger, that's another story haha.

I've had my headlight atleast partially submerged. That when I cracked the bumper driving through an ice puddle.

Surprised no one has pics of that. Basically was sitting on top of all of the ice I broke through, and couldn't drive out of the water.

It was one of my first mods, along with the tpms system de-activation, and anytime fogs. The benefit I've noticed is that it's not as quick to shift down going up hills on the highway in cruise control, it maintains the speed better :notsure:

Pop it out. It really serves no purpose other than to choke the engine, IMO...
