Been on night shift for about 2 months now and I must say, I am not enjoying it quite as much as I have heard about. Working nights here on the AF base really suck. Forget about going to get something good to eat for lunch.

But the trade off is worth it to me.....no bosses to deal with. No engineers wanting to try some crazy ass experiments with the machines. And no maintenance staff to accidentally push a button & take the plant down. :D

We make fiberglass sheeting ......it is the initial foundation for making roofing shingles....just add some tar & rocks on top.

I really dont mind the night shift that much. Things are usually pretty quiet, the shift differential in pay and not having big wigs around is nice.

    But I HAAAAAAAAAAAATE working weekends!

That's not bad. I am here every damn weekend. The only way I am getting a Friday or Saturday night off is if I put in for it weeks in advance or I am "not feeling well"

It sucks, my wife, family and friends all have Monday - Friday jobs. I miss everything fun. I am on the lookout or a new job.

But what can we do? The pay is ok and we all need jobs!

Yeah, the rough econmomy has been really rough up in my neck of the woods.

There are jobs out there but but they either pay WAY less or they are nights/weekends anyways. So I am looking, but staying put really isnt that bad.

I guess I really cant complain. (But sometimes I still do)
