I used satin for mine. I also used 400 grit to rough up the chrome before priming.

Looks awesome! Thanks for the quick response. Any other tips? I've read every post I can find. Mixed reviews on removing all the adhesive before reassembly. Did you remove all yours? I plan to just reuse the adhesive by reheating and then seal with silicon after reassembly.

I reused the sealant. and I didn't have to add any after. No leaks or fogging yet (since march '13). I used spring clamps to help with the reassembly, then I put it back in the oven for a little while after it was all tight and screwed together.
I followed a couple different "how to" threads in the lighting section.

Passed you on the Pali today mike! I was townside but Kailua bound, you were town bound. Saw a Taco with a sinch bumper coming and I figured there was a good chance I knew whoever was driving, then when I saw it was a white access with a softopper it could only have been one person :)

Thought I would add to what everyone said about backspacing.. The wheel width also comes into play. Most factory 16's are 6" wide with some 6.5" wide. 17 factory wheels will usually be 7"-7.5" wide. An aftermarket 16" wheel will be 8" wide usually, with a 17 being 8" or 9" depending on the model.. So even a wheel with a backspacing similar to a factory wheel can be a few inches wider overall leading to rubbing when you turn :(

Can anybody recommend a decent tonneau cover for my DCSB? Need it for storing items in my bed when it rains and to keep them safe. For instance, my sons stroller. Nothing too fancy or too pricey. Kinda on a budget nowadays. Haha.

Didn't see that  I didn't think fast enough to hit mine, but I waved

I like the undercover if you don't mind a lift up. I went roll up for convenience but its not as water tight as an undercover would be. And the undercover will lock the tailgate without a pop & lock since it overlaps it.

Last I knew, Sprayliner Hawaii on Dillingham was the only place with them on hand. I think 4wp can order, but they won't have one you can see right there. And if I remember correctly, he does the install for free in about 10 minutes. And I think he gives a military discount?

I went with a friend a few years ago and bought my Truckcovers USA roller at the same time she got her undercover, he gave her however much off for military, and he gave me the add on latch for mine for free since I brought her :D Installed hers while we were there, but I installed mine myself because he wanted $80 for install.. They guy wasn't super awesome, but he was cool.

Anyone here swap out their spindles for aftermarket and have their old spindles (second gen) lying around and would consider selling em? I'd be willing to spend $100. Considering a project/experiment and not certain how it'll turn out so I can't use mine. Thanks, lemme know.

Cool man. I'll definitely call them up when I have the chance. Probably tomorrow. Do you remember the price range of those covers though? Thanks again.

Sorry, but I love my shell. I would probably not be without one ever again. Totally depends, but I can leave stuff in there and worry a lot less. And with my thule tracks on top, all the boards can go on top
