 There are a couple of side roads up Hyalite Canyon but its usually so busy up there I just avoid the whole place...haven't been up there since...mmm...February
There are a couple of roads up Bridger Canyon, Little Bear has lots of old logging roads. A little further away from town is the Crazy mountains north of Livingston, the Elkhorns west of Canyon Ferry Lake.
Please stay on the trails and respect the signs - lots of private property around here and certain forest service trails are closed to vehicles. Lots of trails got closed down a few years ago because people couldn't behave themselves.

    Fuck you too Monte

yes, I have tools, nothing fancy but they work. Hi lift? What the hell is a hi lift going to do? unless you have sliders and bumpers to use it on its worthless. i don't want a bumper so i have no place to put a winch. and the only time i've ever needed a locker is when i'm out with you guys, the other 99.5% of the time i'm fine without. I've pulled and dug plenty of people out in the winter, my recovery gear stays in the truck all winter. and you have no idea what stress is.
    he started it.

OME complete kit with dakars, LR UCAs, Seat covers, weathertechs, anytime foglight mod, ABS kill switch, locker anytime mod, powered sub, halos, leer topper, aux/ipod hookup.
Flathead pass and moser jumpoff loop at hyalite are some of my favorite close ones. Lots of good day cruises in the tobacco roots- south meadow creek lake is my favorite place, granite lake is also a nice fun one and always looking for a excuse to get out of town in the truck.

Lisas right. :p Been wheelin for well over a decade in Tacos and Cruisers. Only one cruiser had a winch. Used my Hi Lift twice. Now have a TRD with a locker for almost 4 years. Never used the locker yet. All those things are really nice to have, but definitely not absolutely necessary, especially in group wheelin situations.. Pulled a full size Dodge with a winch out of the mud on Meeteetsee trail, (stuck bigger than shit) with my 98 Taco and some tow straps  and he was hanging his head low :( .
Although, I would say, Lisa get a bumper. Hitting a deer at over 30 is going to F your ride up without the bumper. I have hit 4 in my vehicles with ARB in my lifetime. You just keep rolling.
