Finally got one...

Just picked up a 2013 TRD Sport. I was looking used for a long time and the insane resale value led me to just go and buy a new one instead. It's the Spruce Mica colour and I have to say it's a great colour. Absolutely love the truck so far.

Curiously my truck does not say SR5 on the back tailgate. Did they stop putting this on there for 2013?

As well I have a question about warranty. I will be putting the Firestone airbags on it soon and I was hoping this would not void my warranty. From what I have read it does not. Any one have any experience with this?

 

My 2012 doesn't have SR5 either but it doesn't have the SR5 package. Check the window sticker if you have it.

 

It has all the options the SR5 has then some some due to the TRD Sport package. I was just curious that's all. I saw all SR5's and TRD's had SR5 on the tailgate, just didn't see it on mine so I guess they have changed that.

 

Congrats on the new truck! I was in the same boat a while back... looked and looked for a used Tacoma - and ended up buying a new one.

Nice new truck! And good thinking on buying new, especially if you plan to keep it forever. The prices on used Tacomas, especially the ones closest to the newest year are bat-out-of-hell crazy.

+1 on the no SR5 badge on tailgate. I have a 13' TRD-OR and it only came with the Toyota, Tacoma, and V6 badges.

 

Sorry I thought the SR5 had a power seat and a locking tailgate for some reason, I don't know how I got that confused. I guess they did away with the SR5 badge for the TRD sport packages

how would airbags void your warranty? you shouldn't have any issues.

 

Good to know the dealer will install them. Mind if I ask what they charge for that? Did you order the kit through them or bought it and gave it to them to install?
