my dad has a 2010 ford f350 dually and he pulls a 38 foot 5th wheel. i dont think a gas motor would pull it.

Same setup that my parents have, if a gas could pull it then it would be half the MPG at least!!!

I love gas for the power but I love diesels for the sound...as a result of this I am very torn on this.

I have been burned by diesels when up in Northern Canada working as the diesels froze over night  those f&$king things freeze up in the cold and they are ridiculous to get running again......it was also -50 but the gas motors fired up right away

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I must be one of the few that prefers a gas engine over diesel in this particular truck. It would be pretty impractical for these trucks simply because they wouldn't gain much more in towing and hauling capabilities than they already have. Sure, they'd get a few more MPG, and a substantially higher price tag too.

If you want a diesel, trade your truck in on a Powerstroke, Cummins, or Duramax and just be done with it. In stock form, big diesel trucks aren't all that bad MPG wise, my old man used to have an 02 Duramax that got 25 MPG driven right, and that's better than most Tacomas.

All the new emissions stuff cuts down on the mpg and reliability and now they use low sulfur diesel so you will get even less mpg.

worthywad and utard.... I take it,, you are some kind of tree huggers?.. you have no clue on diesel.. I had been around and drive diesel for 20 some yrs. ( mostly firetrucks and constructions. now I works for the highway dept.. aka plow driver.) for a 3/4 and 1 tons diesel is good for farm/ ranch work. comes to towing. with the damn EPA trying to kill the diesel with dumbass emmsion regs.
I will take a diesel in heartbeat over anything.. that's would incluled the taco ever get one.

Na, i'd take a diesel too, just wouldn't mod it to roll coal.

I use a Ram 3500 Cummins at work, but it don't roll coal.

Dodge Springer Diesel too, no coal.

Really puzzling and sad that some people think that rolling coal like shown on the videos is cool and funny. Talk about an anti-social fuck you to everyone else on the road.
