A few days ago I got off work early and figured I should trim my fender flares finally. So out in the deck I got them all trimmed with a jigsaw and am now just waiting to put them back on. I think I took 2.25" off the flares.

    Trimmed VS Factory

I ordered a set of 315/70/17's from tire rack a week or so ago. Those showed up 4 days later thanks to UPS.

The old MTZ VS New MTR

This is where the fun starts...this weekend I got some of the boys together and we did work on the saturday and rebuilt the front end of my truck.

Spoonman getting things started with Littlebluetaco ripping apart the suspension.....good bye crappy drop bracket and coil over spacer.

Orignutta the genious welder checking out what he is up against after the drop bracket was taken out and everything else.

Found out I was missing these support brackets for front diff....had two brand new ones by 5pm thanks to Namwich for hooking that up from co-worker Sam.

Spoonman chilling in the heat during a period of down time.
On the right we have two replacement sections of the cross member that get cut out during the install of the drop bracket lifts.

    IMG_4720_zps2db7171a_ae73dcd9a05d8c4b3cb3af492b2490ace30dc019.jpg

PS if anyone is considering a DB lift.....dont do it.then people like my weekend posse end up repairing it in the future.

Here's a shot of the section that was missing

    IMG_4721_zps93b78fdb_50072e4f0b5ab267d2e90b8ee29ecfbce149384c.jpg

Front diff pulled and removed from the drop bracket.....this is a good looking thing with no DB in the picture. Wish SAS was going on here but unfortunetly its not.

Looks like Orignutta is doing some glueing under there at this point. Haha no not JB weld.....that shits for TEMP fixes only.

Ohhhhhhhh looks like we can see Ron Burgundy the 80 Series LC in the garage in the process of getting new gears, lockers and a few other goodies. That thing sits on 37" MTZ's. Also behind my truck littlebluetaco's rig sitting there with the new heart transplant completed. Damn Purdy shot here.

At this point it looks like the reassembly was taking place. LT going back in to a normal home.

Looking towards the front at the newly repaired crossmember. Orignutta did an excellent job with repairing this nonsense.

Next day myself and Spoonman returned to replace my outter tie rods....the old ones needed to be trimmed to work with the DB setup and were no good to us. After switching them out and doing a "trail repair" alignment we had the truck on the road and back home we were within an hour. I loaded up the tires and we Spoon made insane time of taking care of those. Its weird having knobby tires again....stupid Mickey Thompson Drag Slicks haha
    IMG_4736_zpsc391969a_99897cfb38cb1f4564f8d29f6abef1d311a92d5a.jpg

So stoked on the new tires.

Quick Shot or two down by the river on my way home to chill for the evening.
Huge ass thanks to all the boys that helped this weekend. The truck is becoming legit now.

Still need to get my IFS skid, replace driver side wheel bearing, adjust height of the coil overs. Will be dropping them down a little .

Also installed new spindles with TC gussets this weekend along with new brake shields. Somehow the drivers side had some mud wedged in on top of the spindle that caused a hole to rust through the one backing plate.

Truck looks awesome, definitely one of my favorites on here. Been considering the AP LT kit for a while.

Thanks a lot! Thats a very good compliment considering the calibre of trucks found on here. I went with the AP kit because of....cost really. There is def a good amount of positives I have heard and seen on the other hand I have also seen some down falls of this kit. Once I get some wheeling in with the LT I will see how I feel then! Sure hope I do.

Awesome! I wish I never went the DB route too. But, as you've proved, anything can be undone with the right talent behind the work. Looks good! How much lift are you at with the ap long travel?

Be nice to get out with you again for sure Kevin! I have not been offroading since December in my truck! Bahhhhh too long!

Haha yeah when I bought my truck it had the drop bracket....I wasnt into wheeling like I am now and I didnt really know a drop bracket wouldnt be a good idea for me. If someone is looking for a nice lift and plans to just street use the truck then a drop bracket isnt the worst thing ever but I still dont think I would ever advise getting one to anybody. Especially out here. I know some guy that just put one in his truck and he got charged $5500 for it.
Anyhow I have too much lift for my current setup and will be cranking the coil overs down in the next few weeks when I have time. Its huge now though haha have not measured current height but I probably come close to 1 million inches of clearance up front haha. Your truck looks tight! Keep building that build.

When I first saw your truck on CT4WD I thought it looked awesome. Now with the AP LT and 35s it looks badass! Good choice in colour too!!

Looks way better Ryan. Fucking Douche Bag lifts. I know you bought your truck with it, so I'll forgive you on that (So long as you forgive my epic oil change)

Haha its funny how with changes you can look back on a build and be like.....I thought that was cool? Hahaha Well I guess it still would be but just not as cool. Haha. I have run 35's on it since day one of owning it but I think the MTRS look way more BA on it and do look taller! I love the color....just sucks being pin striped with the dark color.

Its certainly different. Pretty cool its an all tacoma build challenge though. haha those guys probably troll these forums looking for ideas.

Haha thanks, and had I had the slightest clue how useless a drop bracket lift is I would have never bought the truck. Oh well. We fixed that problem now.
I did also get a heck of a lot of wheeling in with the old setup....even with the blocks in the rear. It served its purpose I guess and thankfully its now gone!

Hahaha speaking of which...I need to do my oil change ASAP
