I hope so. The Olympics need to get back to teams comprised of college and university hockey players.

It was always a special night when the US Olympic team came into town to play the Capitals as they got ready for the Olympics. Granted most of the Capitals, for that game, were called up from Hershey to play. Still a special game as it only happened once every 4 years.

why is not fair for them to compete for their country, you know whats best about having the olympics involved, the NHL for the large part of the high end skilled players dont need PED's

 

I do not believe the NHL ever really embraced the Olympics by their waiting till 1998 to allow NHL players to compete in the Olympics.

I would rather see Olympic athletics be amateur but that has always been an ideal not the reality.

 

I agree but reality shows the reason for the allowance of "pro" athletes was because the US could not compete with eastern countries due to the fact their government's would train and take care of them all year long. Where as the US competitors would not be able to do this from a financial standpoint.

 

Very true. The USOC does supply financial aid to some of the Olympic athletes but most of the monies come from corporate sponsors.

Where else can I see the feat, majesty and pure competitiveness of world-class curling?! That's really the only thing that keeps me coming back to the olympics. And my N64 is what keeps me satiated between them.
