Whoa. I have changed the oil in at least 30 different vehicles. The tacoma by far has the largest initial blast volume upon removing the drain plug! Better have a deep oil catch pan... Ironically, it took the longest to drain. I could have let it set for half an hour. Anywho, it has fresh Mobil1 and nothing but happy happy happy.

V6 or I4? The I4 takes greater oil volume, over 6 qts. Didn't notice the blast volume, but you need a good sized tub to catch it all. I use Pennzoil Platinum, and Walmart frequently has good deals on the 5qt jugs, but then I either need to add another quart, or buy two 5q jugs and save most of it for a next oil change.

Your's took that long to drain? mine only takes about 15 minutes... You sure you got the engine and not the transmission?
