Im not really sure how to do it yet but one of my buddies is gonna help me do it and when he does I will try to do a write up on it.

 

Good thing about the mini kit is it is held in by a ring that sits down in slots, just like how the halogen bulb sits down in there. So there is very minimal room for the light cutoff to get horizontally off. As far as vertical, you just use the stock adjustments

 

I did want to get the MINI at first, but i saw posts about how the light would move around during driving. I dont want the light beam to be going up and down as i drive lol.

THats when i decided to get the FX R.

When i took off my reflector bowl, the factory adjusting bolts was just keep spinning, and wouldnt back out.... had to kind of pull on the bowl as i twist it with a ratcheting....

is that what u are suppose to do?

 

Aiming them is easy! I've got d2s and just did a set of d2s in a 95 but had to cut and jb weld those into his housings kinda impossible to not have them straight with the d2s and the alignment ring but I had to grind mine down cause 00 halogens come pre set with a tilt

Yeah those screws just go into plastic so they don't always grab like they should. And yes the mini kit moves. Hard bumps seem to jar them and certain engine Rpms seem to shake them. My suspension is a more stiff then stock trucks so that may have something to do with it but the engine vibration shit really bothers me. I can't notice it at all unless I'm driving behind someone and can see my lights on another car but riding from outside my truck, the lights seem to constantly flicker. Especially when riding in a car where it seems that the light cut off line is close to the height of the car and I can watch it go in and out of the light, it seems to flicker constantly. It's very annoying to me. Seems that they could come up with a more secure mounting point or use a different kind/style of washer to hold the projector in. I think that washer is half the problem

Andrew, if I do halos with the mini h1's are there different sized rings I need depending if I want to mount the inside or outside the shroud? I read there was a difference in another thread and wanted to ask you. I am planning on mounting the outside on the front of the shroud btw.

 

I read somewhere that you can only use one discount at a time. Shipping is only free if you don't use the group buy, or some other coupon. Still a lot better of a discount with the GB, versus $12-13 shipping.

Think it depends on the shroud, so specify your shroud that you're planning on using.
