BILSTEIN ADJUSTABLE LIFT KIT WITH 5100 SHOCKS

It is true, the 5100's don't preload the spring the same way a spacer lift does. However, that does not mean that they don't preload the spring. They just do it a different way.

and the LR UCA's, what else will I need? Do I have the TSB? I'm kinda confused...
I have a 2013 tacoma sport dcsb with 4 leafs in the rear. Please advise because I'm gonna order tonight.

 

If you have 4 leafs in the rear that means you have the TSB leaf pack....make sure you order the AAL that goes with the TSB leaf pack. Other than that you shouldn't need anything else besides what come with it....maybe extended u-bolts but that's it.

And the AAL (even though I believe I already have the 4 leafs in the back) would be the way to go over the Blocks? Do I need to invest in new UCA's as well?

What type of truck do you have? I have a 2012 Sport DCLB.

I have a 2013 DCSB TRD Sport 4X4. I placed my order last night. Ordered that lift kit with rear tsb leafs and LR UCA's with the U Bolt flip kit. Gonna order tires tomorrow. Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T 285/65/18. I'll def post some pics when I'm done with all the installation.

 

Essentially, yes. However, I wouldn't buy/install the diff drop or buy it as an entire kit. It costs a little less if you buy the parts individually.

Another install option is to have them preassemble the coilovers. If they do that all you have to do is literally unbolt the front end, pull out the old, put in the new, and bolt it back up.

hey guys I just want to level my 2012 dbl cab short bed 4x4 trd off road can I just put all 4 5100's and adjust the fronts to .85 or 1.75 ? would I need to realign the front end ? kinda went over budget on the kn 63 series cai and custom dual exhaust out the back ? any suggestions don't do much off road but looking for level better riding thanks

 

Yep, all you should need is the shocks. I'm not sure if you need the lean spacer if you're staying with the stock springs. If all you're doing is leveling out the front to match the rear, you don't actually need to get the rear shocks. However, they are a nice upgrade over the stock setup.

Yes, you will need an alignment afterwards.

 

Just bumping this very informative thread because these are the only questions I have left about my lift as well. For context, I'll be going with Bilstein 5100s all around set to 0 and OME 885 coils with a 1/4th" lean spacer. Only remaining questions are those quoted above. Thanks!

I have a 13 DCSB with the TSB springs already in place. I am doing 1.5 AAL. Do I need to order extended U bolts?

 

No, you're stock u-bolts should be fine. Mine were anyway.
