Few other threads I've looked through looks like a speculated 1-2mph gain.

I'm always skeptical of people who talk about mileage without posting their before and after numbers, averaged ove a decent duration. I've found that a lot of the guys claming milage from various modifications have a lot in common with the guys claiming noticable increases in HP from an intake.

I jsut know i haven't seen a change in the 2 tanks since mine's been on.

    Yep.
Nice! Almost got those but wanted a road friendly set for dd. Mounted measurment is right at 34.4".

It will be with no more than 3" of front lift. Whole bunch of cutting, beating, grinding and welding for the 36" :D good thing is they are skinny tall.

what dimensions are the 36s? i thought they were 12.5 wide? i'd call a 10.5 skinny at that hight, but a 12.5 would be pretty normal, no?

    TSL bias; Q78-16LT, 35.5" x 9.5"

    From what I've read, they run a little large. So, ~36" x ~10.5" ?

    10-4

gonna do the same hopefully over the long weekend if temps don't stay above 100.

probably going to wait to see if i actually have to cut the fenders until i have the tires on though. no need to cut if i don't have to, or more likely, cut further than i need.

I cut the pinch weld flat, then beat back a little bit with a BFH :)

correct me if i'm wrong, but if you cut it flat, isn't there no more weld holding the two panels together?

i got a text from a friend yesterday saying he was getting his pinch rewelded because it split after he cut it. i've never seen that happen in person, but it got me thinking. i'm just going to be cautous when i'm cutting i guess....

RCtoy has a 1st gen with an S/C and snorkel. Mr.TRD just put his S/C on but was having problems with it collapsing the snorkel under high loads so he unhooked it, not sure if he has fixed that or not yet. And whenever n0rth gets around to installing his S/C (assuming he leaves the snorkel on) he will also be setup that way. Not sure that any of those 3 guys are very concerned with MPG's though.

I did the same thing, only I alternated the folds. Then I beat the piss out of the whole thing to push it all back.

Yeah. It would squeeze shut on him because S/C couldn't get enough air fast enough. That was all on a stock setup TRD S/C with just the TRD flash.

time for some snorkel modification. cut that elbow out and modify the connection between the snorkel and airbox.
