Town? It's the capital of Pennsylvania. It's a CITY of a population of 50,000.

Sooooo...not sure I'd want to live anywhere near center city Harrisburg (or in the center of any city for that matter) ...but you should consider looking at the suburbs.

I live about 30 minutes from the outskirts of Harrisburg right along Rte 283. We love using the Harrisburg airport (vs Philly or Baltimore). I'm sure there are lots of nice suburbs in/around Harrisburg. It just depends on how far you want to drive.

There is a Bass Pro Shops in Harrisburg. There and the airport (small, but decent) are the only places I have visited.

LOL...50k is a town in Jersey and when I was in Harrisburg twice this year I considered it a town, but coming from NJ and working in Philly for 13 years my opinion is slanted.

The small town I grew up in had 30k in residents :D

The airport in HBG is really good actually. Pretty decent rates for such a small airport.

I agree... When we book any flights, we go out of Harrisburg. Park in 'long term' parking, get shuttled in.

We usually hit the airport in the early morning and there's hardly anyone else there. No lines, no waiting.....

    65 1/2

    396, 425 horse, 4 speed car, hardtop.

My FIL restored it years ago, sold it to his wife's cousin, who kept it at his beach house. FIL was looking to buy it back, asked me if I could find a warm spot in my garage for it.

Last time I flew to San Antonio I sat down and had breakfast 45 minutes before my flight started seating and I still had 15 minutes left to wait at the gate

The only time I was there was the day I sold the Tacoma. The buyer flew in from Kansas City, paid me for the truck and drove it home.

No, it was still at his beach house. My FIL never bought it. Apparently the guy traded it to his mechanic to fix one of his other cars. He never knew what he had.

    I had a 2005 Jeep Liberty diesel. Sold that POS and now have a 2006 4Runner V8.

They did. 2 years only. Great idea, typical Chrysler execution. The transmission shuddered at highway speeds. They replaced the torque converter twice, couldn't fix it.

town i'm in right now is 70k (80k if you include the illegals) and the metro are here is upwards of 250k within a 30 miles radius so i consider 50k a town
what is the commute like? i don't mind living 30-45 minutes outside of town if that gets me into a good area
probably no culture shock for me, i've spent a fair amount of time in jersey, nyc, maryland, dc area, virginia, carolinas, and a few places out west. plus, i was a navy brat growing up on various navy bases so i hung out with people from all over the US

Hi from Spring City, and there are plenty of gun shops around. Your best bet is to ask your local PD.
