So I wanted to install some new wheels and tires on my tacoma but I don't want to buy new tpms. I just wanted to know if having the warning on all the time ruin the trucks electrical system. I've tried to search for the answer but couldn't get a straight forward answer. Also does anyone else run wheels without tpms?

Depending on what wheels you get you should be able to swap the sensors from your stock wheels into the aftermarket ones. Thats what I did when I upgraded to 18"s with 33"s. There is people on here not running their TPMS and they just put black electrical tape over the indicator light and I havent heard of the constant light messing with the electrical system.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Last week I took my four year old and my 11 year old to our family ranch about 30 miles from home. I worked on a couple pieces of equipment while they played in the dirt and mud. We stayed at the ranch 4-5 hours.
While at the ranch, I probably picked up something in my tire, right at the corner where the sidewall meets the tread. Anyway we get on the freeway on the way home, and I hear something metal hit the underside of the truck, my daughter even asked what was that, I told her I didn't see anything on the road so I don't know. Not even 20 seconds later the TPMS light pops on, I'm going 80 plus on the freeway, so I slow down and pull over, starting to feel that something is not right, sure enough, my passenger rear tire is almost flat, 20 seconds later totally flat. I really appreciated the warning! If I hadn't been warned by the light, I'm pretty sure I would have shredded that POS Rugged Fail tire in the next 60 seconds.
I've never had a vehicle that has TPMS, and I've lived this long, but last week, I was glad to have it.

Depending what state you are in, it may be part of the vehicle inspection.

I have set of winter tires with rims that I use. I wasn't paying the money to get a TMPS in them. I have them in the stock rims and tires which is fine. I ran without TPMS all last winter and I just got use to the light. I checked my tires at every fill up anyways, so the light was pretty much useless. It doesn't wreck, ruin anything.
