Oil building up in my intake

A couple weeks ago I was having an issue with my throttle, at any speed, in any gear, if I had my foot just barely on the gas the throttle would just cut out for a couple seconds then come right back. When I pulled my intake off I found that my butterfly valve was completely caked in really sticky oil. What's strange is that I just cleaned my throttle body about 2 months ago and the sticky oil wasn't just caked inside my throttle body but all down the intake all the way to the filter as well. After I sprayed the crap out of it with brake cleaner its been running great until yesterday, I felt the throttle start sticking again. I pulled off my intake again an hour ago and sure enough, there's sticky oil building up on my butterfly valve again.

The only thing I can think of is a bad pcv valve but why its blasting my intake with oil has me befuddled.

So umm, ya... WTF!!!

 

What kind of air filter are you using, if its one you oil it could be from that

well, theres a couple things that come to mind.
1. too much oil in your air filter if your using one that need it
2. you've got a leaking valve somewhere if #1 isnt the issue.

one other thing you could try is installing an oil catch can to catch the crankcase ventilation oil and prevent that from going back into your intake. also some pics of the oil would help to narrow it down. and do you have an supercharger or turbo or are you naturally aspirated?

 

Its definitely not coming from the air filter. I'm using just a plain polyester air filter.

Its naturally aspirated.

 

Could be a bad PCV valve that's not doing the proper oil/air separation. What's your milage compared to the recommended PCV replacement in the maintenance booklet?
