    Hey everyone!
I was out in the truck today cleaning it out and what not. I had noticed when I came upto the passenger side door handle it was all white. Once I got upto the truck I realized that it's fading. I have never had these plastic hands before, they were either painted or the chrome look from the 80's.

So I was wondering is there something that I can to do bring it back to new? My bought my truck in November 2012, so it seems weird that it would be fading already.

If there is any info someone can give that would be great.

    Thanks!

I am not too sure what it is. It's only on the passenger side door, not the drivers side. It's looks like sun fading to me.

I was thinking about that the other day when I was at the Auto Store. I had found the Dupli-color, color match paint. When I first bought my truck I wanted colour matched handles, I didn't know the DC paint existed. I am glad that I waited and didn't pay the money for the color matched ones(dealer). I guess I am going to have to get on it since winter is coming.

Wax from what? The only thing that I have that's been anywhere near to any wax is Plasti Dip and Pre Dip Spray. Weird.

    And thank you.

+1 on the wax residue, but if not, I've had good results with Meguiar's Ultimate Black as posted above.

If it is wax residue (looks like it is) another trick is to use peanut butter. Rub it in and then wipe it off. I used to do this with similar trim on a MINI Cooper S I used to own and it worked great.

I've used Meguiars for my interior and never had anything bad to say about it. I have never used it outside(exterior), maybe it's just as good. I think I am just going to paint them.

Anyone have a process for that. I've never painted anything on a vehicle before. Just indoors of houses.

not joking, use peanut butter. The oil in it does wonders to remove the wax from plastic

Haha! I figured you were serious. The sad thing is that I don't eat peanut butter or have any in the house. For the price of a jar of PB I'm better off going to get the Meguirs.

How easy is it to paint them?

    My steps of thinking:

    1. Scuff handles with scuff pad, dish soap and warm water and clean them.
    2. Primer. All I can seem to find is colored primer and not clear
    3. Paint. Not sure how many coats.
    4. Clear. Not sure how many coats.

I am not sure if if what I said was right? Anyone can clarify that would be awesome.
