There isn't anything wrong with mall crawling after this weeks fiasco until I trade in for a 4x4 or get a rear locker I am an official mall crawler. Managed to get trapped in the back yard until I floored it out. May just need better tires but somethings gonna have to happen.

Trust me I have been trying talk the gf into letting me get one. Think 28k on the clock is too high for boost since I don't know what the previous owner did with the truck?

 

And anyone have any ideas if its the tires or driver.... ive got 265/75/16 dynapro atms with less than 5k on them.

 

No I would boost a tacoma with over 100k miles. The engines in these trucks are stout. They are built for abuse and lots of mileage.

The TRD is built buy toyota engineers specifically for the 4.0 V6 so as not to push to much into the engine and cause excessive fatigue on the rods.




To answer your second question. Its probably a combination of both. Lockers are really important in trucks IMO because there is essentially no weight in the bed over the rear tires where the power is being put down. I advise getting a "running start".

Shit man I can't even go over a curb without a small running start unless I have the locker engaged or 4x4 on.

Also the A/T's are built primarily to pound the pavement. They are designed to wear the best and handle water the best ON the pavement if that makes sense.

 

Haha. I have looked all over for dirt roads and found nothing. If I go out onto Ft Campbell range there are roads everywhere to have fun on. If you get caught though the fine you for trespassing. I just have to wait unti Oct.

Bills 5100 and 885's. I'm not running a winch on the BruteForce bumper since there will be nowhere to wince to up in the Badlands. Got some dirt cheap generic AAL's until the leaf pack I'm waiting to buy gets ready because apparently one of all pro's suppliers is having a strike or something.

I had a couple jeep guys talkin to me up at the cruise in last night and one dude asked me about why I don't have a winch and then was like " Oh, well you're a mall crawler anyway right?" I just started laughing and said "Yeah dude. See that fucked up spot on my bedside? I got that from doing extreme mall crawling and crushed it in on a light pole." So then dude goes "Well I've never seen your truck dirty before. A lot of people think you are a mall crawler." Once again I laughed and said "well here let me show u something." I popped my hood for them and if some of yall have never seen under my hood, it looks like this ..........



Dude goes "oh" I said "Yeah just cause yall mall crawl yalls pussy ass jeeps doesn't mean everyone with a nice truck does." He promptly shut tha fuck up. I need to put that "mall rated" sticker on now fa sho. Then ill fit right in with all the hardcore jeep ******s!

looks about like my engine bay! I whipped it down some yesterday, and it still looks like that. but with only one battery and stock intake.

 

Yea, my engine looks about the same. My paintjob is real nice and trail rashed up as well. I don't have a winch yet either, I'm usually wheeling with other people and tow straps and ropes have done me fine, I don't go searching for the biggest puddle of shit to get stuck in like some of these rednecks in their jeeps do.

And mines not a mall crawler, its a campus crawler, hence to steel bumper to protect myself from drunk idiots, as aforementioned.

Put some new wheels and tires on today, including the spare. Replaced the 265/70/16 Rugged Trails with 265/75/16 All Terrains, I really like it. Now I just have to save up for my lift
