    is the 2nd gen tacoma a larger vehicle than the 1st?i swear this 07 i just got feels wider and longer than my 00 did.

    Yes. It is both wider, and longer. The dimesions of the second gen Tacoma are more inline with the first gen Tundra.

    Go find an '00 in a parking lot somewhere (should be fairly easy) and do a side by side.

    x2 very simialar in size to 1st Tundra

    1 gen Tacoma = compact pickup
    1 gen Tundra = Midsize

    05+ = midsize
    07+ Tundra = fullsize

    I liked my 02 Tundra Access but I love my 08 Tacoma Double

    Jesus, you couldn't tell just by looking at them?

    As I like to say, the 2nd Gen Tacomas are "Everything but full-size". It has a towing capacity (with tow package) that rivals or exceeds many full size pickups, a respectable payload for its size, and powertrain performance that can go toe to toe with many full size trucks in real world use (if not numbers on paper).

    All this and better fuel economy.
