subd! Great tittle, great truck! I hate to say it but I plan to be a poser. Where did you get your OME full kit from. Im thinking about going with a kit from wheelers thats about $1500 with all the same goodies that yours came with and a brake line extension. Also why did you pick the 881's? Im thinking about those too but not sure, im so indesisve between the 881 882 and 883.

    Thanks! :D

I got my OME kit from Toytec. I'm pretty sure they are cheaper than Wheelers. It was $1389.95 with the coilovers assembled with new top plates, Dakars, and shipping. Plus another $50 for the brake line I had to order a few weeks later. Really though, if you're just going for looks and don't plan to wheel the truck, the existing brake line should be fine. I was just concerned because mine was stretched tight just before the axle was at full droop. You probably won't ever come close to full droop driving on the pavement so you should be fine. That said, you could probably get the brake line cheaper than I did if it ships with the kit rather than separately (less shipping, maybe).

I went with 881s because that's what Toytec recommended unless I was going to run a big plate bumper with a winch out front. Unfortunately, for the foreseeable future that sort of thing is on the love-to-have-but-can't-afford list. Although, I think I might have liked the 883s better since I like a firm ride and, as I said, when I drove it around the block today after I finished putting it back together, it seemed a little floaty. I'm going to have to drive it more to be sure though. It definitely feels like a whole different truck than what it did before I started.

I just hope the 33x13.50 R15 Super Swamper LTBs on 15x8 wheels I pulled the trigger on last night fit since I seem to have netted no appreciable lift.

Oh, and if you haul heavy stuff in your truck, or pull a trailer with a decent tongue weight, do get the extra leaf they have for the Dakars.

Thanks for all the awesome inpute. I do pull a heavy trailer about 6 times a year so i might have to get that extra leaf, if anything maybe for the exta clearence too. lol. Yea im with ya on the plate bumper, its on the dream list, so i might settle for the 881's. kinda depends on how yaur feel in the next few months, if you dont mind updating it then. I assume you have manuel front locking hubs? I do too and am conserned about finding wheel spacers if I might need them in the future. Im not trying to jinks ya but I think you might need them when trying to fit those bad azz swampers. lol. If so I would like to see how it works out.

The tires will be mounted on a set of Procomp Series 97 15x8 inch wheels with 3.75" backspacing. I've been assured that they'll clear the UCA. I'm more concerned with how much of the fender I'm going to have to trim. Wheel spacers would just exacerbate that issue. But yeah, I do have manual hubs and I know what you mean with the manual hub/wheel spacer thing. Those things are hard enough to turn without being recessed up inside a wheel and wheel spacer.

Anyway, I'll definitely let you know how things go. :D

A man brought me presents today. Delivered my tires. Man, I dunno if it's because they are sitting in the house at the moment, but they look freakin' scary huge...as in 'I'm worried they may not fit on the truck' ginormous.

Ack! You did jinx me, Mike! :brianr:

Only it's not the tires. It's the $%&@ wheels. I should have expected it, but I thought it was only an issue for trucks with 16" wheels. The Procomp wheels hit the brake caliper. I had to order a pair of those 1/4" wheels spacers from Wheeler's. Hopefully that solves the issue.

Man, if i would have known this was going to happen I would have got the wheels with 4" backspacing instead of the 3.75" BS. :pout:

On the plus side, I got the ones on on the back and they look hardcore. They stick out almost as much as the kick out on my sliders. Might need to do a little trimming on the lower forward corner of the fender though. It looks a little close. When I get the fronts on, I'll have to do a little mall crawling to see how it looks stuffed.

Bwahahahahaha!!! Your welcome sir! I look forward to seeing the pics. I hope those spacers do the trick. They wont throw off the hub centering of your rims will they? I got a set of 2013 Stock tacoma 16" trd rims im puting on mine and the backspacing has a 0.5 diference than mine now, and i want hub center spacers sooooo bad but dont think it will work out for me. Good luck my friend.

Nah, I think the new wheels are lug-centric anyway. The biggest worry with these spacers is that I might not get enough thread engagement on the lugs. But other people have run them with not much issue so I think (hope) it will be fine. I guess it might also put more stress on the lugs as well since the wheel will be moving out further away from the flange. But again, a lot of people here are running them with no issues so I'm going to be optimistic.

Good luck to you as well. :D

I haven't decided what I want to do with those center caps yet. I could paint them black to match the wheels, or OD green to match the truck, or I could leave them as is just to set things off. I figure since I can't go back to chrome once I paint them, I'll leave them like that for a while to see how I like it.

Thanks. :D I can hardly wait to get those spacers so I can get the front ones on and see how badly I'm gonna have to butcher the fenders.

You're right though, the sliders don't look nearly as goofy with the new tires.

Well, I got the front tires on this evening. Looks bada$$. No pics as yet. Was too dark. I'll take some tomorrow.

Anyway, I got some work to do, but not nearly as much as I thought I would have. The tires don't hit the fenders at all near as I can tell at the moment. They do hit the pinch weld, so I'll have to address that. This stupid pinch weld is going to be the source of most of my issues. Gonna have to clearance it on my slider legs too. It rattles pretty brutally when hitting bumps in the road.

Just a little bit more and she'll be ready for some shakedown wheelin'.

If you don't allow atleast .5 inch space between pinch weld and sliders you will have a bent pinch weld first time to lay on a slider

Glad to hear tires fit and no fender surgery is necessary

This is about full extension on the rear. There was enough weight off the tire that it lost traction.

And here's the other side. I forgot to look and see if it was sitting on the bumps, but it's pretty much stuffed...

Hehe, if I could put up with the freakin' clunking until I made it back up to Ocala, that would be fine by me to let them self-clearance. However, I'm predicting I'm going to have a bent pinch weld long before then after it has a close encounter with my BFH. :D

I may have spoke too soon on the fender clearance though. Looks like I might need to do a little trimming on the front corners of the rears. Dunno though. I might let it ride and see what happens when I have it on the rocks.

Looks nasty with the tires man.. Also I think as far as the rear fenders go, I would just take the bolts out that hold the liner or whatever in, so that it doesn't eat the tires and roll with it. The smooth fender shouldn't hurt the tire at all. And I think I would either remove the rear center caps or paint them black. They look a little out of place since you can't run them on the front.

Thanks! I'll definitely remove the bolts. They aren't really necessary, but I just put them back in so I didn't lose them while I was deciding whether or not I was going to put the fender flares back on. Seeing how close that tire is, I reckon putting the flares back on is a no-go so I might as well take the bolts out too.

Far as the center caps go, painting them is an option. Just wanted to see how they would look chrome for a while since I can always paint them. The chrome ties in with the toolbox latches and the Toy emblem on the grill.
