Silverado Canyon Run 9/01/2013

Hey guys, just thought I'd post this up...Im heading up to Orange County this weekend for a Family thing on Saturday, so me and Whippersnapper are gonna hit up Silverado Canyon on Sunday. We're meeting up at the Chevron on the corner of E Chapman Ave and Jamboree. I think it's a chevron, gas station for sure with a Subway in it .

Hit me up or just show up. Gonna try to be there by 8:30AM and leaving by 9 at the latest.

Edit: I'm 2WD and had ZERO issues on the main trail! Some off the bypasses and offshoots can be a little rough (got stuck on one spot) but that's why we have 4WD's tag along!

Bump-O-Matic! I know it's same day, but I'm hoping we can get a couple more bodies to come!

For the record, this way my first trail run on an almost stock truck! (Was on Bilstein 5100's all around)...This is also the same trail that I thought I was a badass on, and then on the way down i see a camry rolling up it lol

 

Will be there possibly with more tacos

 

Nah, I think it was either a camry or a corolla, I forget exactly, but It definitely had like 2" clearance and was mobbing like crazy lol.

Either way, this is a pretty easy trail, just fun to go on, couple spots you can get some fun speed on and drift around corners...and it goes all the way up to some radio towers at the peak and makes for some fun views!

For the record, this starts in I guess Santa Ana? and if the full loop is open, it drops us out in Elsinore. Fun run for sure! Bring a lunch and drinks and we can stop at the top!

 

Runs from Silverado Canyon to Ortega Highway.

I'd rather skip the towers and go north on Main Divide. Many more challenging bypasses and a cool helipad we can stop at for lunch or something. It'll drop you into Corona so it's less driving on the fwy on the way back.

 

^Honestly, I was just talking to Christian about that...I've only been on that trail like three times...and only once was the gate open to head up to the towers...and I got up there and was like...'Unkown trail to Elsinore, F that, I'm going home(by myself)'

So I'm totally down for whatever. If more people come, I'm fully willing to go hit some fun stuff!

Google 'Maple Springs Truck Trail'....if you follow it back to E Santiago Canyon Road, follow that back NW'ish it'll take you here- "Santiago Hills Car Care, 8544 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA 92869" -where we're meeting Sunday morning. It's a Chevron station with a Subway inside.

 

Gabe, it's a fire road. Nothing really challenging at all, I'm going because its 3 miles from my house and I don't have plans Sunday. To be honest, it's not worth the drive all the way up just for this run. But if you're in the area, for sure cruise with us.

Nah man, I wish I could...I even heard ZZR is showing up LOL. My dad is throwing a 2014 birthday party for my sister tomorrow...she's leaving for England in like 2 weeks for study abroad. The whole family's going to be there, can't miss it. He's up in Yorba Linda. And then sunday afternoon my sister-in-law is having a BBQ at her place in Brea for some new roommate or something. But I told the wife I'm hitting up Silverado Sunday morning, and she said just be back in time for the BBQ in the afternoon lol. Maybe

 

Ill be there. Coming straight from work. Gonna load up on the caffeine. Unless some IE guys show up and I'll get some meth from them.
