odo works in reverse for whom it may concern

I leave mine on trip and noticed the other day while backing up, it rolled up a tenth. so my plan on driving in reverse all the time to keep the clock under 175k miles has changed.

 

If you remove your speed sensors you won't clock anything. Haha no speed either though.

 

That's what the GPS is for right.

The vehicle speed sensor does not take into account direction. Odometers on every vehicle I have ever worked on since the 90s all count reverse mileage.

 

This made me laugh. When I was growing up my Dad got pulled over for speeding. The speedometer didn't work, we had a 90's Buick. But when we got stopped, the cop didn't know the speedo didn't work, obviously. He got a 10 km/h over ticket. But no ticket for broken speedo.

 

This is the first vehicle I've noticed the speedo working in reverse but it could just be a lack of attention. in the past.

 

Maybe you look behind you when backing up?

I just read it. It didn't make sense to me. I blame all the Plasti Dip I was using today. I fixed it.

I just read where you were from. You probably have an awesome accent too.

 

Disconnecting the speedo will also turn on your check eng light and it probably won't shift right and may do other weird things....I've heard.

 

"Except" would have been a better word to use in place of "but". I kept reading it as of there should be a ", but" and could make the last part come together.

 

Mine still shifts fine.

 

I don't have an accent; everyone else does. I honestly do speak relatively proper. I've been asked several times where I am originally from when I'm within 20 miles of my house and where I've lived all my life.

 

I don't think I have an accent either. Other people say different.
