Trading in shortbread for long bed

Well I'm trading in my 2012 dbcab short bed for long bed but dealers are telling me the truck I want is rare?super white or Black LB TRD Sport w/ nav and tow pkg.toyota dealer don't like to negotiate. They're telling me they can't go that (low) on a rare truck lol. They are offering me 26k and want 7k for mine. Blk doublecab , tow pkg Trd sport with 19.5k!good deal or not

 

The one I want is a 2013

 

they are going to rape you on the trade in. not worth it just for a longbed. if you had an older truck it would be, but your going from a 12 to a 13.

You have to add 7K on top of your truck to get the new 13 taco or your truck only worth 7k to them? If your truck only worth 7K to the them then that's crazy you can probably sell it for 20K given that its accident free and in fairly good cond... 2wd right?

 

Seven grand difference is too much IMO. if you need more hauling capacity, buy a trailer.

 

...I assume you're saying they will give you $26K for your 2012 and you pay $7K difference for the 2013 LB?
Guess it would depend on how many miles are on the 2012, tire condition, warranty, and the options on both truck...pending this you go back with a counter-offer.

Buy a bed extender for $150 and call it a day.

 

Sell it privately if you can before you trade it to the dealership. It's more work but you have more of a chance of getting what you want for it. The dealership isn't going to give you what for you want for it. They're going to make interest as well as the mark-up on the truck so they're going to give you a little as possible.

 

I don't think that it is a rare truck 2013 DC LB 4x4 sport, that is the same type of truck I have in super white n it's not rare, they are telling you this cuz of them trying to get rid of all the 13's to make room for 14's n prob not wanting to order you in one for the trouble. Just to gain an extra foot of bed space for 7k. Not worth it to me I would just get a trailer or bed extender for it n save a lot of money. It's going to be the same as you have not with a extra foot.

 

My truck is in perfect shape except one door ding ! 20076 miles never smoked in all oil changed , tire rotation, filtersby dealer! They want to give $26000 and I pay $7000 difference for 2013 LB TRD Sport with navigation tow package and Toyota care. I just want and need LB

 

In the end, it's upto you if you wanna be upside down $7,000. That whole BS about being a "rare truck" is just dumb. If you need, want it that bad then go and buy it. We can't stop you. Like another posted said, "go and get a bed extender". That's alot cheaper than $7k.

In our society of entitlement, people have changed the world "want" with "need" to justify doing, wanting something.

 

Half the 4x4s sold aren't need, let's not judge 1 foot too harshly.
