    also double ^^^ double shear just supports the top of the hinge/spindle so the weight does not put as much stress on a single point....... peace of mind really for me though

    I cleaned my truck (finally) thoroughly today. Found all of the spots that require paint touch-up. :rolleyes:

    But I think of you every time I drive my truck now. When I step on the gas and feel the surge, I get to re-live what you experienced. :cool:

    The upper hinge should reduce or eliminate flex from the weight of whatever is mounted on the arm.

    i still need to touch up the pellet mark in my door. i have a little jar of color match paint the dealer gave me when i bought the truck.

    Ahh okay. I'm happy with mine. It's not the spindle that gives it's the bumper itself. But it's not too bad.

    It'll buff out to hardly noticeable.

    don't get me wrong. i'm not saying single shear hinges are bad by any means. i just feel more comfortable with dual shear for myself. personal preference i suppose

    You'll be fine. Run your locker. You wont hurt it. If it was a 31 and a 32 you'd want to be conservative but could still run it to get out of trouble.

    No locker on all the time would be MUCH worse. The larger tire would cause tons of stress on the entire diff, both axle shifter and your main drive line cause it would be spinning slower causing it to skip a lot. Be very bad.

    But it's on the front diff. So right now it's better the the rear as both sides are disconnected completely. So it doesn't matter. If there were on the back it would be like your taking a constant corner thus causing the diff to work hard to compensate the power thus more wear and tear.

    As long as it's on the front. Doesn't matter too much.

    open..not so much and probably not as much with the difference's your dealing with. If it was a 32 vs 31 or 33 vs 32..it would be a much bigger issue. But since your probably just a few 32ndths off..your probably fine.
