    DECEMBER 15 (SUNDAY) @ 11:00AM
As of November 10 this thread is for the above mentioned meet!

    Folks,
I'm posting this as per jmangones request so that we can keep the original Homestead Hump thread going. Please disregard the "HOMESTEAD MEET SUCKA!!!!!!!!" thread & continue this one.

There will be a pre-meet scouting trip on Sunday Dec. 1 to make sure the area is passible which I'm sure it would be. If anyone wants to join me for the pre-meet, let me know. I'll update both lists here. I hope jmangone gets a big turn out that Sunday after his birthday! People, Come on!

    From jmangone,
""OK I HAVE A REQUEST, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A MEET FOR MY KINDA SORTA BDAY GIFT TO MYSELF, CAUSE WHAT IS BETTER THAN GOING OUT DRINKIN AND WHEELIN FOR A PRESENT. I SAY HELL YA!!

SO I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE ANOTHER GO AT "THE HUMP" IF ANYONE IS INTERSTED IM TRYING TO PLAN IT FOR DECEMBER 15TH. (THE 9TH IS MY BIRTHDAY) IF YOUR IN JUST ADD YOUR NAME AND I CAN START TO ORGANIZE.

HOPE TO SEE A BIG TURN OUT!!!!!!!!

PLEASE NO GIFTS. (UNLESS ITS BEER) LOL""

    Meet:
    Homestead Hump.

    Date & Time:
    Sunday, December 15, 2013. 11:00am

We will first meet up @ the Race Track gas station:
    35426 S Dixie Hwy
    Homestead, FL 33034.

It's pretty big so we can park there until we are all ready to go to our destination, which is about a mile southeast of the gas station.

Very simple to get there. Simply drive South on the Florida Turnpike until it ends & merges with US 1 (South Dixie Hwy). In about a mile you will see the Race Track gas station on your right.

The long road heading north/south on the left of this pic is US1. Under & to the left of the words "THE PRAIRIE" is a road that connects to US1 from the west at a 45 degree angle. The gas station is located where this road meets with US1. This google map pic is a few years old so all you see in that intersection is trees but yes, there is a new Race Track gas station there.

    Hope to see you there!

I've only been through the entrance because the one time that I went the entrance alone was so flooded that the water level was even with the top of my OEM steps which sit closely under the doors. I went in July after 4 days of heavy rain. That's another good thing about going in October. Less rain.

Even in the dry season there is water in there.

Go to Youtube & type in "Homestead Hump" & you'll see a few vids to get an idea. Hopefully someone who lives near this area can scout it out for us. If I can I will & I'll take pics to post them here.

2010.TRD, so far you are the closest. I live off of Le Jeune Rd. & SW 8 st, north of the Coral Gables boarder & south of Miami International Airport. Hope to see you out there with your new truck! Good Luck wit the purchase! My next truck will definitely be 4WD but with my older son in College & the next one 2 years away it will be a while, LOL! The purchase of my '08 Prerunner on Jan 03, 2012 wasn't planned. It just happened that way. Only upgrade I did for traction & clearance (besides BFG A/T's) is a new 3rd member from Toyota with the mechanical LSD. I bought it under wholesale price with a 1 year warranty. It originally came with open diff. Also, Billies at 1.75 & Wheelers 3 leaf AAL.

BTW, we have time to get out there so if I get there first I'll let you know. If not, you let me know. Please take pics of the area.

    Thanks

Hey guys, new to TW but I'm not new to the 4x4 world. Count me in, I should have my lift & tires on before the end of the month. I live in Weston, would love to meet up with any of the guys up north (ftl, WP, boca) and ride down to the meeting point in Florida City.

I live in Palm Beach Gardens so I'm probably one of the farthest people away.
Also I think I may be the youngest out of the South Florida group?

With this advance notice, I should be in the running as long as I can get the truck all fixed up.
