    I've lived all over the US, and 4 years in Europe. Just pick a place and go. I'd say do it before you get older and are rooted. You can make any place home it just takes the effort. Family will always come to visit. Even when we were in Germany people came to see us. I lucked out and live in a state where I have my direct family but it was not always the case and that was fine as well.
