swapped out the wheels from the 4runner to the tacoma. 4runner is for sale and had brand new 265/75/16 yokohama geolander AT/S tires, and i liked the rims from the 4runner better anyway. Also had 1" wheel spacers on the 4runner from when i had 285 tires, moved those over to the tacoma as well.

I also took the odyssey battery out of the 4runner and installed her it in the new to me tacoma.

took her to the local offroad park...

and yikes!! My 4wd is not engaging. The little green light doesn't come on. So i had my wife drive in 4wd and i see the front drive shaft rotating. So i thought, maybe the bulb is out in the cluster. Nope, I go to go over an obstacle and nothing. only the rear wheels are kicking....any ideas??? i tried going in reverse and forward a few times in 4wd to see if it would engage...nothing!! I'm lost here

Gotta be a wiring plug somewhere that needs cleaning, its manual but partially electrical also.

Not the best info, but kinda gives you an idea. Id check and clean all plugs on transfercase and any you may see on or around front diff. Check any vacum lines also.

I'm probably into it for just shy of $300.

    Tubing was around $70
I think I spent about $100 at DIY4x4.com on the bushings, the tabs for the bushings, pre-cut gussets, the mounting plate for the spare to bolt to, some tube end caps. Figured they were all precut and cheap enough saved tons of time.
I also bought a harbor freight tubing notcher. $40
Misc things at home depot spray paint, cut off wheels, sanding disks etc.

First big welding project I've ever done really. Learned a lot and for the most part enjoyed doing it. Even in this 100°+ Az heat! Haha
