    I think this stuff is awesome for doing this. It comes with one sheet of EPDM with some sort of adhesive already on one side since it was made for patching pond liners. I just cut that into strips. We'll see how well the adhesive holds up but it's gotta be better than just sticking it between the leafs and hoping it doesn't move. I still folded it down so it's pinched between the 2 sets of leafs for extra security.

    Cut & broke off some stuff.
    Anyone try UHMWPE tape?
    It's cheap and seems durable on any projects I've used it on so far.
    Have had a strip of it along my mountain bike frame for years to protect the metal from chain slapping. It's seen plenty of mud & oil without degrading.

    I don't know if the adhesive will hold up under the heat and pressure of our springs in the summer but if it does, this stuff should do the trick. If the grease stops working for my Dakars, I either try this or just epoxy in the vibration damper pads I posted pics of earlier.

    Mine is more of a creak and it's in the front hanger.
    A shot of white lithium grease between the hanger and spring eye and I'm good for 2-4 weeks

    Raycie, just buy the kit linked above. Comes with more than enough for this fix and some of it even has self adhesive already on it. Mine's been holding up great so far.

    wd-40 or PB blaster when it starts bothering me(usually 6+ weeks between applications). Maybe I should try this pool liner

    I'd avoid using any grease on any leafs, it'll probably keep things quiet for a short bit, but now you've got another maint. issue... keeping the leafs clean & re applying grease... Problem with grease is it attracts dirt, the dirt sticks to it, the grease dries out & leaves the dirt to find its way deeper into the leafpack

    I love this site. My dakars are a month old and squeked everytime I stoped today. Went on TW and here are some solutions. I'll clean them off from offroading last week and pick up a few lubes to try. Thanks guys.

    One of my EPDM strips finally rubbed through , squeak came back right away

    New strips going in this weekend

    I would go the rubber strip route. It's a much longer lasting solution.

    Lubes generally don't last long and tend to collect grit but I had my best luck with chain lube before going to the EPDM strips
