Well thanks for the tip. Wont have to worry about it once I put the Warn in the bumper, but until then, we had to do whatever it took to get Jeff home, and since I was the only 4x4 with recovery points in the back, I took one for the team.

From what I've experienced out there, there's no such thing as a "perfect recovery". You just gotta make do with what you got. Obviously we all weren't prepared for that since it's very unusual to see a rut like that up there because the roads are maintained by the USFS.

Didn't Christian have his recovery mount to his hitch, he has locker to.

He had to pull it out later to attach it to the hitch when we decided to have 2 trucks pull, plus he wasn't even caught up to us until we had already rigged up the strap. We were all pretty spread out at that point.

We used christian when we hooked up a second strap and it was a pretty quick recovery after that. Along with me falling on my ass trying to get out of the way. Was pretty funny.

I know nothing will be as strong as the stock ring and pinion ratio, but my point was that the stock gears are gonna be gone soon. I'm not entirely worried about breaking it at this point.

And I'm going with Motive Gears. My driveline specialist at work used to work for Randy's and Yukon and he says Motives are better. He's got years of experience with ring and pinions.

Actually...I'm not really worried about breaking a lot of things on my driveline...most of it will be swapped soon...but shhhhhh ;)

So just saw the end of the recovery video...what was that knock sound? I felt like it was tranny but it could have been something else just at the same time I shifted to park?

    Really strange...

If I hadn't already been sitting down, I'd have fallen down too because Christian engaged ATRAC.

Ok so the first knock....no idea what that was...I was still barely rolling up the hill when that happened, the second knock was me putting it in Park, because you can see my door open right after the knock. And my park BANGED in loud when I did it. And as I got out I heard you throw yours in park and it BANGED too. The knock right before that though, not sure what that could have been.
