ya just spoke to the dealership there trying to blame me for the dash and the ac control lights not working. saying its not warrantied

 

tell them to S your D and fix it... I hate when people pass the blame

 

I did. I told them the fuse popped once and I replaced the fuse. there saying basically just because I installed a different switch that its not covered by warranty. I deff called BS on them said I checked all systems and even the dimmer knob and nothing was working. when I replaced the switch I only touched four wires that were connected to the fog light switch

 

yeah keep bothering them and talk to a manager... if that doesnt work talk to the dealer himself lol.... but really.. keep pestering they're just trying to save some cash

 

ya once I go Thursday and listen to the bs im going to call bs and talk to the manager or dealer. garbage excuses they come up with

 

Not sure if I missed it but why did you change the switch?

I can see why they are saying the warranty won't cover it, it just depends if they are going to be cool about it or not.

 

I've got a strong hunch the dimmer knob got twisted. I have a vague memory I stopped using the dimmer a long time ago because I got an unevenness in the dash lights.

 

I didn't like the stock switch, I wanted something different no tot look cool to other people. unless your referring to tomtoms posts

 

ill take a try at it and let you guys know. ya I don't really like this dealership either. not the best customer service ive seen.

im hoping to have other lights so we could actually do something and me learn a thing or two about wiring. soon im hoping still would like to meet all you guys. I appreciate the help

Also I disconnected the new switch and put in the stock switch and nothing happened with the dash lights...

 

Tom has had good things to say from them... I've personally never taken my taco to the dealer but theres more than one here in town haha

 

Larry H Miller Toyota on Copper and Eubank (near I-40) has taken care of me and kept my truck running. However, this was all on my dime since my truck has been out of warranty for eons now. They seem to know their stuff and I've had no issues with any work they've performed. Somewhere in here, I'm taking the truck in to have the flywheel re-done. I had an independent shop do the clutch and the starter/flywheel interaction has been hosed ever since.

I have a guess at what Fred is leading towards but I'm holding it until he chimes in. Don't want to create any confusion since I'm not 100% sure.

Fred, the resistor, not sure if it is external but guessing so. If I understand the description, the diode is the LED on the cluster indicating if the fogs are on or not, so yes, it is external.

 

I wouldn't know about that really, I never touched the wires that far back. just the tip of the wires
