This is what I use, never had any issues with it. I also just toss the front wheel in the back of the cab, I have an extended cab.

All done with the mountain bike time trial. I finished in one hour and six minutes by my watch. That was a great trail. Now it's time to hydrate and rest. Kev, how'd you fare?

The last hill out is the one where you have to come down the rocky hill after, correct? I ate shit going up that hill. I have a bruise on my chest that I don't remember getting, must have happened then. :)

I stopped twice to figure out how to get down a couple of the steeper slopes. Next time I'll try for Cat 3 and not the beginners.

Did you do any of the other events last weekend? I about killed myself finishing the 100 miler the next day. That sucked!

Yeah it's one thing to do a century but combined with consecutive days of hard effort.....that's what's so amazing about the pros. Can u imagine doing several 100 milers in a row with thousands of feet of climbing. Nuts !!!!

Not the one at the camp, but I know where you are talking about. Super sketchy. that last climb at the camp isnt a problem for me, that super rocky descent freaks me out though. The first time I attempted it about a year ago I ate shit.

The part where my chain came off wasnt even a hard climb. It was right where you turn around under the bridge and just a small stretch of woods before you come into the clearing then head into the barn for the finish.
I should have just picked up my bike and ran it in...lol

I just chilled on saturday but sunday I did the 10k and finished with a 57:48 time. Thats the farthest Ive run in one stretch.

How was your half on sunday?

The half was good. I wasn't planning on breaking any records considering the two rides I'd done on Friday and Saturday. I finished in just over three hours. Good job on the sub one hour 10k trail run. That's pretty quick.

I had to circle the wagons after falling at the camp. I rode in a circle a couple of times before going down that rocky descent. After running down it I realized it wasn't too bad. The first time rolling up to it made me think twice though. There was a nice little crowd at the top that gave me a round of applause after I made it down in one piece. :)

Check out this thing. It's a 1979 Le Tour IV and its in awesome condition for something 10 years older than me [IMG]

Bought it from a dad who's son got it from the grandfather. They said everything is original, tires brakes. Not bad for 130$ and it rides awesome :woot:

Enjoy that one! All of my bikes are over 30 years old, the oldest is a 1971 Schwinn. Great bike.

I may not attempt the tripple threat, but I plan on being there next year. I'll be camping again at MPEC as you can't get any closer to the action.

On another note, what's up with their not being any photos of the mountain bike races?

I bought a Scott Speedster S20 back in May. Great bike, good price bit more than entry level but some solid components and a Carbon Fork.

    Check out the Scotts!

This is long over due but check it out

It rides awesome and I really like that style of bars but I think it may be for sale soon. I need something all-weather

    But in other news...

Some 105 stuff popped up on CL. The guy was asking 150. When I met and looked everything over I offered 140 but he said no to 140 and gave it to me for 100  I actually felt kind of bad he did that. Maybe ill contact him and give him my take offs whenever that will happen :notsure:

    And in other other news...

Been rocking these serfas seca tires for a while now. I have literally taken chunks of glass and metal out of my tires with out it puncturing. They were a b-word to get on. I am dreading the day I actually get a puncture. About 600 miles and only complaint is that they wear kind of fast.

    Thats all folks :)
