PA Selection and Mounting Questions

Has anyone mounted a PA horn to an aftermarket plate bumper? I think that would be a logical place for my All Pro front bumper.

Second, anyone use this:

Was it loud enough?

 

Yea, I have it and if you are running it from a cb radio it won't get enough power to be LOUD but from all the research I have done it pretty good bang for your buck if you are on a budget.

 

if your just interested in just a PA without a cb i had the hornblasters PA and it was crazy loud. little expensive but defintely loud and has the option to run 2 aux switches

 

You can look at Whelen speakers. From what I understand, they're the best. (Note that that's what's on police cars)

 

Do I need an amp to drive those 100 watt speakers? Cause the CB only puts out 4 watts right?

 

Correct. You would need an amp if you wanted to get the full potential out of the speaker. Or you could find a self powered speaker for about $80 if you wanted an all in one unit. I have the same speaker as you posted above and it is plenty loud for my use. I have it mounted on the bumper frame facing our. Cant be heard by other autos while driving but peds hear it just fine.
