I'm a new owner and have a 2012, so if this is obvious, I apologize, but would the smoked headlights be an OEM version of the BHLM?

No. The BHLM consists of painting the inside of the light housing Black. The smoked headlight is just darker outer lenses.

Please share those pictures. From what I understand, there is no change from the 2012-13 Tacoma.

Base 7188 increases by $50 but I believe the SR5 pack is LOWERED by the same $50 for a net change of zero in this combination.

QUESTION: Is the 'SR' package a lower/cheaper pack than the 'SR5' package?

    Thanks

SR - sport rally... with 4-speed automatic? :D

And you know it's bad when Toyota doesn't even bother putting up a picture of the Tacoma SR package in the press release.

    "4.0-liter, 270-horsepower V6 teamed to a five-speed ECT-i automatic transmission"

sigh. seriously why hasn't toyota dropped that into the Tacoma? i posted after getting my '12 Taco that while i'm very happy with it, i do think they are vastly underpowered compared to a lot of the competition.

toyota obviously has the engine, why in the world maintain 2 different V6 platforms for SUV/truck purposes? drop the f'ing bigger 6 into the tacoma. yes it may cannibalize the 'small' v8 on the tundra but hey how many people are buying the tundra to have a 'small' v8 when the tundra is squarely pitted against F150, Dodge Ram Hemi, etc.

rant over. just a bit frustrating because just a tad more power out of that v6, no other real changes, and that tacoma is about as perfect as one could ask for in a mid-size.

So if I have a dealer talked down to $33,694 out the door on a 2013 double cab Off Road how much less likely are they to make a similar deal on a 2014 right off the bat?

You never said what sticker price was and what options it has on it.

But you might be surprised and take delivery on the 2014 for the same OTD price (same sticker price or close). However, there may not be any manufacturer incentives on the 2014 such as 0% financing or whatever else is offered in your area. So see what you can do on a 2014 before you pull the trigger. You're the one in the drivers seat and they have no deal without you... keep that in mind!
