    Hardy har har. :p

One of the very few songs I'll karaoke is "The lap dance is so much better when the stripper is crying". Dedicate that to a few of the resident bar whores and you're an instant celebrity.

Y'know, I've been listening to that and associated style of music for as long as I can remember but I could never ever get into acts like the Ramones or Sex Pistols. I sincerely appreciate their influence, but ehhh.

Hell, the first real conversation my girl and I had started when I saw her singing along to a Reel Big Fish song and I asked her "WTF do you know about RBF" and well, the rest is history.

    A) the bloodhound gang is good for one thing - karaoke
    2) punk is a lifestyle - just like anything else. you don't have to have a blue mohawk that is 3ft tall to progress the movement. as long as you have the ideal (depending on your level of 'dedication') of taking it to big brother/the man... you'll be fine, just watch SLC Punk. supposedly there is a 2nd one - finally.

that's one of the better expos of punk music in mainstream entertainment though. and yeah, it's a great rite of passage movie. but i think it's gonna have the boondocks saints 2 effect. it's got a big name/reputation to live up to.

i had to google that. i've seen an episode or two, but haven't been able to get into it. last time i watched it we got a shitload of explosive things dropped on us, so we returned the favor, but with a larger number of bigger bombs. i think that we were in a firefight for like 7 hours that day.

i wanna say the episode i was watching was the piss bottle or the gun fight episode.

    Lol no.

SLC Punk is a good movie, but any sequel will suck and tarnish the original. I realize that this is Hollywood we're talking about, but some movies need to be left alone.

Maybe I never got into SP and the Ramones because I never felt the need to be overt or obscene in my attitude, style, or image. Lifestyle or not, "poser" or not, I knew from the get-go that walking around with a mohawk, black everything, spike studded jacket, and job killers would do nothing but attract the wrong attention.

It also doesn't help that 99% of the "punks" out there, even the old ones, are scenesters and overall idiots. No stupid, it isn't The Man's fault that at 35 or 45 you still work as a pizza delivery guy or line cook at Double Dave's. It's because you act like a fool and you have "fuck you" tattooed on your fingers, so stop complaining.

Prime example of someone very intelligent who has evolved into the modern day punk: Henry Rollins. I don't agree with all of his politics or views, but goddamn I respect him a great deal. Even the arguments and viewpoints that I disagree with are well thought out. Not some irrational buzz line that's the anti-popular mainstream-yet-trendy-underground-cliche of the day.

Then again, if you are truly happy shuttling pizzas around or working as a low wage tattoo artist so that you can live your life the way you want, all the power to ya. Not going to disrespect.

I don't have a FB or belong to TT, but even I have heard of this... Person.

"Beer" is a great song off a great album called "Turn the Radio Off".

And I freaking LOVE KACC gulf coast rocker! Best radio station in Houston and the commercials they play slamming Houston radio and Houston radio personalities are comedy gold.
