The worst part is getting them taken out. The fun part is all the pain killers you can handle.

Thought I would post here instead of starting a new thread to ask for some advice.

Every year a few friends and I plan an NFL trip down to the states. We go to a Sunday game and a Monday night game. We love the NFL. We try and keep them close and a different city/cities every year. This year we are going in week 8 to New Orleans for the Sunday game against the Bills and then to St Louis to see the Rams and Seahawks.

So we will be in NO from Wednesday - Sunday night so wondering if some of you can tell this Canadian some of the must see and do's in NO. I am also interested in some opinions of some of the best restaurants. I know it may sound lame but being as I am Portuguese we already plan on hitting up Emeril's but any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Really excited to see your fine city and thanks in advance for all your help.

My favorite restaurant is Boucherie if you want just great food, for Barbecue try The Joint, if you are into craft beer try The Avenue Pub. A good way to burn a few hours is an airboat tour as long as the weather is good but coming from Alberta that shouldn't be an issue.

I'd hit up the mortuary haunted house. It's your generic hauted house but it was an old mortuary and cemetery, and its always fun to watch the locals act a fool... As far as food... I dunno... I've always been a fan on my family's Cajun food over restaurants and that makes me a harsh critic. Get some cafe du monde while y'all there, can't beat fresh bagnets!

I checked tripadvisor and Boucherie was the first restaurant that came up so I think we will be definitely hitting that one on the trip.

I myself would love the airboat ride but convincing the others might be tough. A friend and I did it when we went on our Miami/Atlanta trip and loved it so we might do it again despite the flack from the other guys. To this day they still bust our balls about doing it but if you go all the way to Florida, why not see the everglades? It's like going to Arizona and not seeing the Grand Canyon. So if I fly all the way there damn right I want to ride an air boat and see some gators. ;)

One of the other guys mentioned we have to get these as well so we will have to give those a try as well.

Thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated. I will check in again if any other ideas come to your mind. Thanks again.

That saturday before, October 26th is LSU's homecoming against Furman. Baton Rouge is only an hour from NOLA and there really is no other place in the country like Baton Rouge on gameday. Since Furman isn't a big time game it should be pretty easy to get tickets if y'all are interested in that. Plus the food is outta this world

    Tickets:

Oh man I would love to go see a college game. The atmosphere just looks awesome at one of those games. We are in NO on Thursday and I think we want to experience the city itself as well for those three days. Lots to cover in only 3 days so not sure if we will go. But I will run it by the other guys and see what they say. Thanks for the idea and the link to get tickets though.

I personally love the idea but we shall see. Thanks again.

Not a problem. Since it's Furman there are lots of tickets available but the fact that it's homecoming means there are gonna be parades and events on campus that game day. Plus, I can show you around some of the tailgates

    Nope...I'm wicked lazy.

Actaully - I gotta bring the parts in and talk about the mold with the composite guys down here. See what they think still.

But with my truck sitting at NOLA....can't really get to them right now....:spy:

Yeah...They should be finishing up the truck early next week at the outside. I hope...Cause I've got more laundry at work than I can carry home on the scoot. :D
