    Hey guys,

My wife and I were driving this weekend on a 2 lane mountain side road and the left front all of a sudden seemed to lock up and the abs activated. I didn't see the instrument cluster to see if the TCS light or anything popped on just because it scared the bejesus out of me.
The only thing I can think of is that the yaw rate sensor tweaked out on the windy canyon road and pulsed the abs to that caliper in an attempt to straighten the truck out but that wouldn't make sense and it wasn't that sharp of a turn.
Anyone ever heard of anything like this? Visual inspection of tone ring and sensor look fine. No fault codes in any modules or other obvious tell tales.

I've encountered the same thing on my truck twice after hitting the same section of road with these weird bumps and it triggered the VSC/ABS. scared the crap outta me 65mph in heavy traffic on the highway.

It has happened to me a ton of times. I get so pissed because it is pretty dangerous and catches you off guard. I try to always remember to disable it. :(

I have just made a habit of going out to the truck a couple minutes early and always turning off the tcs completely!

20% tint on the front windows. 8-15-13 Installed Icons front and rear with Dakars. 2012 4Runner wheels with 275/70/17 BFG T/A KO2's. Weather Tech mats front and back. Leer shell with Leer Locker and roof racks.
Pushing the VSC button in for 5 seconds doesn't disengage it. I tested that several times this past weekend and ABS still activated. Taking in to dealer for Zero Point Cal this weekend. The problem pisses me off.

Were you at a stop ?

Push and hold the VSC button for 3-5 seconds , the AUTO LSD and VSC OFF lights will come on , continue holding the button till the AUTO LSD light goes out leaving only the VSC OFF light illuminated ?

It also resets everytime you push the VSC button or turn off the truck

My GF's 05 4runner has VSC and after lifting 3" it it trips every time we U turn, and does it quite a bit pulling out into the street when turning right. I think it senses the lean from now sway bars(hey, more flex and smoother ride :D) but damn it is starting to bother me. So glad my 03 doesnt have the electronic nannies, I'd set them off a dozen times a day! :goingcrazy:
Ours though has only tripped at relatively low speed, never over 35mph, I could imagine going faster it gets more sketchy!

The only time I've had VSC kick in was when I took an exit off the motorway a tad too fast. The loud beeping caused me to break focus on turning and to look at the gauges and blinking lights to see what the hell happened to my truck. In the split second I looked down I entered the opposite lane and nearly hit a car head on. Scared the fuck out of me.
