Yes I would and have repeatedly throughout this thread. I'm not trying to come across as a dick (admittedly failing at that) and I know you didn't ask for opinions on your new vehicle. But in the end this is a Tacoma forum and there are certain vehicles out there that people are willing to accept more than others (as shown by the length of this thread). In reality it is none of our business why you chose what to buy with your own money. But you chose to put it on a public forum so (right or wrong) prepare for all types of responses.

I hope you will get good service out of it and if it fills your needs for the next few days then that's what it's all about. It's a Honda so you "shouldn't" have any mechanical issues with it.

    No such thing.

My father has a original Avalanche with all the plastic shit all over it and my Mother drives a 05-06? Dakota. By far the 2 ugliest trucks ever made in my opinion. I'll be surprised if a Ridgeline isn't in their future somewhere:rolleyes:

I have to agree, Honda's OEM pads have always sucked. I know this as a service tech. The quality of their materials are less then desirable that's for sure. Maybe it's just me but I also believe that their rotors are undersized which is why by about 20-30k, customers are coming in complaining about brake rotor vibration.

I'm too lazy to read through all the pages. i believe Ridgelines don't have leaf springs therefore, it's not a truck.

Wait ... so you traded Tacoma for Ridgeline that is not even getting much better mileage and now you looking to buy older Tacoma to offset Ridgelines suckiness in Offroading.
Sounds like complete Win here.
Regardless what tailgate says you dont have 4wd in Ridgeline (its even long stretch to call it AWD, more like 2wd.1), you dont have transfer case with 4L, and you dont have real rear differentials.
Thats why you buying Tacoma for offroading but than why have you sold one you had before ?

For others that stumble in this thread, this is what Ridgeline has for "4wd"

Rear driveshaft always rotates because it is "bolted" to the rest of the system.
Set of cluthcpacks on each wheel is what transfers power, if clutchpacks dont engage there is no power because ( notice lack of third member with spiders) there is noting linking rear CV with ring and pinion. its fluid coupling.

Glad you're enjoying your truck OP, while the Ridgeline isn't my cup of tea Hondas haven't let me down yet. My mom has a honda and I was looking at the new Accord Coupe before I got my 4Runner. Any pics of the new ride?

Its in the link I posted.
According to that article system is only fully locked under 6 MPH  after that starts lowering locking until 18 MPH when completely disengages.
I guess beach driving is out of the question.

I can't believe I just read all 15 pages of this thread.

hey OP glad you like the ridgeline, looks like it will suite your needs perfectly. It does have it's nitch car like ride, with an open bed I briefly considered them when I was looking for a new vehicle, but the lack of a 6' bed is what completely turned me off of them.

    no fruit involved.

I compared ride & interior. the Ridgeline is superior to the Tacoma.

When I said you are comparing apples and oranges you are.

The Ridgeline doesn't ride on a frame but a unibody/hybrid frame with a independent rear suspension so therefore it will have a obvious advantage in ride quality over a vehicle that rides on a ladder frame with leaf springs and a suspension that is made to travel off road. Essentially you're comparing a Lexus to a Camry for lack of a better analogy.

One is a truck, the other is not. I'm sure any "car like" or car has a superior ride to a Tacoma. You're not supposed to buy a truck for a comfortable ride. Although it seems that is what has happened to the average truck. To many people want the truck look, with the car ride. Hence why Tacomas come with the 3 leaf pack, instead of 4, what it should have. Canada's Tacomas come with the 4 leaf pack, dare I say Canadians are manlier then American men? This all started with the invention of bike helmets by the way.

You could, and, if your location is any indication of where you're from, you'd also have to say they are better at grammar than us as well. Not a good day for America. :D

Not sure how you qualify this, as the insurance companies around here classify them as trucks, they have a bed, and a tailgate.

Regardless, The OP is going to know what vehicle fits his needs more than any one else.

Well the problem is that the pads they use are ceramic, and at high temperatures, ceramic is known to wear unevenly. It comes as no surprise to me that switching to a different using different materials brought out and promoted better braking.
