Just wanted to thank you for posting this write up. Installed pop a lock on my 2013 Tacoma. And with the tonneau cover, I feel much safer keeping the golf clubs back there! On thing I did notice, the truck auto locks after a minute or so with the doors closed. Perhaps taking the negative off the battery the truck defaulted to factory settings?

    Thanks again!

I think it only auto-locks if you hit the Unlock button on the fob, but then fail to open one of the doors within a short period of time.

My truck has always auto-locked after about 30 seconds if you don't open a door.

Thanks, guess I never noticed before. Think I read something about it in the manual that it can be disabled at dealership. I've got a phobia about locking myself out:p

It's pretty fool proof. It won't auto lock if you've opened a door at some point. I'm sure it can be disabled, I've never really looked into it.

Are you saying you want a kit that includes a camera or you have a camera? I don't think pop-and-lock makes a kit that comes with the camera, you'd have to buy the 2 separately.

They are 2 separate items. You'll have to find a camera kit and this lock works with any stock tailgate handle set up.

I got my pop-and-lock from Amazon.....search there for that. Can't help you with the camera. Do some searching. That probably won't be a very easy install if your truck isn't already pre-wired for it. Might be some guides on here or somewhere else on the internet. This site has a search function and google is great too.

Just put a spare key in this.. and you never have to worry again!

Also great if you are going snowboarding or something and don't want to risk losing your keys on the hill.

I'm pretty certain they will be. I doubt they changed them.

Good (or not so good) to hear I'm not the only one having this same issue with the shoty spring im on my third lock in 30 days! You'd think they would have found a new spring by now.

Anyone know if it would be possible to wire this in to work off the trunk unlock button on a remote start key fob? Was wanting to get a remote start and some come with the trunk unlock button?
