OP: Your truck is already lifted 1.75" in the front. By adding any type of spacer lift you are going to seriously affect the handling of your truck (if you can even make it work which i doubt) I have never seen any 4x4 go more than 3" without doing a drop bracket lift.

cliff notes:it will ride like crap if you add any type of spacer.

i had the toytec ulk (glorified bilstein 5100 and spacer combo package), and it rode awful when it was set to the prest height of 2.75"

i now have the same Baja suspension you have and love every minute of drving it.

you could add height by switching your front shocks out with OME's or Icons, and whether that is an improvement or downgrade is a personal opinion.

i suggest you find some locals with other setups and ask them to take you for a test ride before you ditch your Cadillac off road suspension for a cheaper alternative just so you gain 1" (at the very most) of ground clearance (after you buy new, taller tires)

just remember when going with rebuildable shocks, they recommend to rebuild them every 2 yrs or 30k miles.

I'm not following this part of your post.... and lets forget about acheiving a 3' lift for a moment.

I'm not understanding how you think that changing the front Baja 9100 shocks to 5100's will not be a downgrade and at the same time provide an equal or better ride?

I take it you've never actually driven a Baja before because I think maybe you are mixing up your experience with upgrading/changing your own stock tacoma (to make it better which it did) and thinking the same changes would yield the same results on a Baja... It would not!

Put it this way... think of what you just said above, but instead of the Baja package, the OP had the ICON Stage 1 or 2 package installed and only lifted in the front by 2' and was talking/asking about this 3' Toytec kit....

Would your comments on switching out the front ICON's for 5100's and not being a downgrade and provide an equal or better ride make any sense at all?

The only thing it would acheive is hight...

So are you saying that you agee with 757 Taco comments?

Just because I may be new, doesn't automatically mean I'm wrong...

However, if everyone tells me what I'm saying is actually wrong (other than 757 Taco), then I'll accept that I'm wrong and will STFU!

    thank you :humble:

im not mixing up anything at all and I have drove a Baja. test drove one at the stealership for shits and gigs. he doesn't have icon coilovers or anything similar. his are simply bilstein shocks with eibach coils which are no means on icons level. more of an OME level which is what ive suggested to him because of the good ride as well as the lift he is looking for. anyway, we have different opinions on this matter and it doesn't seem that ill be changing yours. good luck OP

OP, you don't want or need a "leveling" kit. The Baja kit already lifts the front like Brandon said. Don't waste your money. You could probably do some upgrading on the rear leafs though but will need to be careful not to get too much lift out of whatever you bought. The stock leafs can't handle much weight.

I don't agree nor do I disagree. I do follow what 757 Taco is trying to say, and that is for OP's purpose of solely achieving the height he wants, he probably would be doing just as good (if he is on a spacer budget) to go with OME 884's or whatever on 5100's or even full OME if he wanted to achieve his lift. In the realm of bearing a load (front plate bumper, etc) on the front end, and general offroad performance, the OME will kick just as much ass as an adjustable coilover. But OME is NOT suited for every circumstance, for example LT and other uses.

Point being, each suspension setup has its pros/cons on how you look at it. Spacers are just one of the obviously lesser quality items. OME, Bilstein, and any adjustable coilovers are all going to be nice choices.

My SR5 suspension is WAY better than your TRD junk! :D Op, I'll make the same offer but for the much improved SR5 shocks/coils and a 4-leaf pack....no crappy 3-leaf pack!

As long as the curbs are 3" or less, it goes right over them! That suspension is a beast.

    Icon > Baja >5100s >OME

With the Baja suspension at about 1 1/2 lift just do a 1/2 spacer and you will be right around 2 1/2 of total lift.

Meh it's all subjective comparing OME to 5100s, but they both suck...

OMEs 885 and 886 on a double cab are stiff and you will feel it unless your crawling.
5100s are stiff when maxed out ie 2.5 setting, below that they are tolerable.

Both have limited capabilities and will "fade" quicker at speed. The more they are subjected to fading temps the faster they turn to shit...

But hey if you want to buy a Baja and are even considering OME or 5100s then you should have just bought an SR5...

I guess I don't know what I'm taking about since iv only had 5100s, ome 885s and now icons. So my experience is just that, EXPERIENCE. I guess actually off roading and using your truck for what it is doesnt count when all the fan boys say otherwise.
