I was looking at 4" kits and noticed the RCD is way more expensive than the rough country 4". I just found out my brother is a distributor for rough country so I can get that kit for cost. What's the difference in quality?

i was stressing over the same exact thing..

only reason i did not go with RC was because of a past experience with them..

i had purchased a 4" kit for an 89 f250.. when i installed it it was really tough to get the spings to center on the perches and when i did the wheels were really bowed in even after adjusting them..

so i called.. what they told be was to drop the truck off the jack or jump it off the curb and they would settle..
i told them wouldn't it be better to redo the kit.. if the center drop bracket was a little longer it would take care of the issue i was seeing..

also the RCD kit comes with replacement front struts and not LARGE spacers..

i have read good things about both kits..

it all comes down to a matter of choice.

The one thing on the rough country is the front cross member isn't boxed compared to rcd or other drop bracket kits for added strength.

I called RCD and they told me minimum wheel size was 17". I thought I saw some members running 16's. I would like to run 16s because they are cheaper (wheels and tires), and for personal preference.

Anybody run 16's with this kit? I do not want to run spacers. BS will be 4.5 or less for whatever wheels I buy.

This is the best way to explain it they are both the same basic thing just the Rough Country is a cheap knock off piece of junk. Just like these 2 X5s same basic car the but everything is differnt and higher quality on the real deal.

Looks like its RCD then. I don't do cheap anymore. I'm old enough to know what happens when you cut corners and don't buy quality.

Did anybody have any problems with VSC with this lift? I know it's a common problem with all lifts...doesnt seem to happen much with RCD's
