    The glass currently sits on a small plastic container. I wanted the bottom of the glass to be visible to show off the gold coloration.

    I'm still confused. What is it mounted on? I'm assuming you want the glass for a homemade light but I can't seem to figure out why it needs to be so thick.

    For the best light transfer no glass at all would be best and just shine the led through the vase.

    Limit the light that overflows around the edge of the vase and only shine light through it and your walls and ceiling will get the colors without the over-lighting on the sides stealing from the effect.

    Something like thin wood routed out to just hold the base of the vase with the LED under it would be what I would do.

    Similar to this but you would want the sides much smaller so they aren't stealing the light effect from the base

    At this point just wait until clearance and grab one cheap. Right about now or in a week or two would be best I would think. I got my snow blower in summer for dirt cheap :D
